Tasp 2007

Hey, how come people aren’t POSTING LIKE CRAZY?

I haven’t done my shopping yet… I might have to do a bit of shopping during TASP. =/

I am so amazed by the fact that we will be at TASP tomorrow.
oh, and amir, I just called the shuttle company (I sent you an email).
Jordan had already called, but he didn’t tell them three people so I added us on…has anyone actually heard from him? I wonder if we have the wrong email or he’s not checking it and he’s not even going to know we’re meeting him until the cab driver tells him there were 2 more people added to his reservation. Hmm.

I would have been posting this whole time but I was in princeton. jenny, I was gonna get you that shirt but some movies at the record exchange were calling my name. Sorry! But I swear I will force one of my friends to drive me down one day. I’ll still get it for you.

Haha it’s okay, Karen.

And yeah, what is up with Jordan! Lol he’s such a mystery…

http://www.youtube.com/user/kevjumba

Watch some of his videos. I particularly found the stereotypes one and the “I need help with the females” one very interesting.

Hm…Am I still supposed to write down all my thoughts on here? And are we supposed to reach 500 by 12 tonight? or just in general sometime get to page 500?

I think it was by TASP…so I think tomorrow morning should count too.

okay…

OMG we are 14 pages away!!!

Sorry I have been MIA, I left for Chicago on Thursday.

Friday:
Went to Northwestern and UChicago…

I ABSOLUTELY HATE NORTHWESTERN. Just another pre professional school, where I felt like I couldnt even hold a conversation. It felt liek no one was there to learn, just go in and out to get a damn piece of purple paper and get a high starting sallary because of their alma-matter. (Very Harvard) My aunt who went there reaffirmed that notion, she hated it. Not to mention i got no feel for the campus at all… I am so much like my mom, she was like now you see why I didnt go there. ICK

BUT BUT

Guess who loves UChicago again, it was amazing! Tour guides (Yep they do pairs, with little cute dialouges and everything) were a little idiosyncratic and really quarky… but thats what UChicago is, right!!! I unfortunately missed the begining of the tour but I caught up in Reynolds Club and it was fun. We sat in a classroom (Only one my mom ever got an A in) and went oer the core with our tourguides. And afterwards there was a great discussion session. This was the first tour/session I have been to where kids actually asked questions… It was funny one mom asked if you had to write an essay for the application, I had to laugh! After the discussion, my mom and I had a 15 minute chat with one of the ad coms, it was really good and my mom approved of the new Chicago (apparently the classes in the early 90’s, late 80’s were generally unhappy with the school-- my mom was not the only one-- and they have made a lot of changes, no one from those years has been donating so they figured something was up) So that reassured my mom and afterwards she was like, I know why I went here. So now she really wants me to go there! (It is so cool to, 60% of students study abroad) like that is awesome, you can even take your Civilizzation core requirement oversees.

Well I am in the business center of the hotel, and I have ducked out of the birthday festivities so I should get back…

Sorry for the typos, I am gooing fast and this keeyboard sticks.

-Corey

haha typos are no problem! I (i’ll say we) are used to them sometimes. Maybe.

I’m glad you liked UChicago Corey! It seems cool that your mom has changed her mind about it too. I wish you all the luck in the world two years from now. (Well, you can take all the luck not given to the seniors on this thread. hehe i’m too selfish)

omg the little  was next to “Columbia University” again. The weird thing is (well, besides it randomly being there) is that I’m happy about my plans regarding that place again.

My mom told me to look at Cooper Union and even though they have even less of a campus than NYU I still like it. Maybe it’s just the full-tuition-for-everyone thing. =/ Anyway, I was thinking if I apply there maybe for architecture. Then again, I can’t draw for my life.

so engineering school it is

It’s going to get really weird talking to myself on here.

I hope all of you have safe flights!

I need to take a trip into the city one day soon. When? and what should I do there? hm…decisions decisions decisions.

No comment Karen.

:-P

You dont need to draw to be an architect, i know because my dad is one. Yes he can draw, but the last time someone did plans by hand was 20 years ago. Besides, my dad has his own firm and he outsources all his drafting to Colorado (nope not India… yet)

I wanted to e an architect for the longest time. Seems like so much fun! Since my dad has his own firm he has to try really hard to get clients, but now that he has a few it is all word of mouth… Sort of like that cousin’s sister’s best friend’s uncle type of thing. But hey it works… Just yesterday this client got him a meeting with some guy who is uilding 3 9000 sqft houses in the hills and doesnt have an architect (Wouldnt that be handy)

What are your plans regarding Columbia?

I decided against architecture, at least at Cooper Union (though as a career I would LLLLLOOOOVVVVVEEE it) because they accept 15 people out of about 600 applicants. >.<

Columbia? Right now they include applying to SEAS ED. Thankfully someone from my school already goes to SEAS so it isn’t like they’re taking a crapshot with a new person from a new school.

random post… TASP in T-24ish hours (for me)!
