@midwestboi oo, u definitely wrote a fun essay, lmaoo
Did anyone notice they changed Cornell 1??
Used to be Long 1968. Now it’s :
“Cornell I Program
Great Books of the Axial Age”
Am I late to catch on or did something happen
@Kingtape I noticed that too! I was praying I wasn’t crazy. Seems like they changed it after we applied
That change had to be in the last few days. I just checked that a few days ago.
Great Books of Axial Age seems really interesting as well def would have been my number 1 if it was available at the time.
how strange! long 1968 had been my favorite (but this one seems really cool too). i’m a little sad to see it gone even though i probably wouldn’t have had the privilege to attend regardless
they didn’t change cornell 1 on the brochure, that’s odd. but cornell seems to be really interesting since it’s kinda about philosophy - i would have ranked my preferences as maryland, cornell 1, cornell 2, and umich then
if 3000 people actually did apply this year i sincerely feel bad for the adcoms. at some point it’s gonna become eeny meeny miny moe between at least ~300 extremely strong applicants to choose the ~120 who will be finalists. this isn’t even accounting for the fact that completing the taspliccation is a pretty self-selecting process so the applicant pool is already quite strong
I am guessing the emails will go out next monday or tuesday
@5toryt3ll3r was the decision in the subject and body of the email, or did you have to log back into the application portal (like how most colleges do it)?
what’s up, I’ve been lurking for a while… good luck to everyone in this coming week! I just was so shocked by the program change that I had to chime in. What do you think happened guys? Is the axial book one gonna be the actual cornell1 session this year? I picked umich as my first option, then maryland, cornell1, cornell2 but cornell1 sounds hecka interesting lol
Whaat why on earth would they change it? Damnit man that was my #1 choice
Maybe that’s part of why it’s taking them so long… some pre-planned instructors couldn’t make it for whatever reason and they needed to move things around. I imagine they’d use elements of essays to sort people into the new Cornell 1
hey, do u guys know if tasp accepts a lot of low income students? idk, i just remember someone saying that tasp favors minority/low income kids was one of the main reason why i applied in the first place. a lot of programs and programs often require things that I can personally could never dream of affording (and don’t get me started on COLLEGE :///) so I’m hoping tasp will gift me that opportunity. also YOU GUYS HANG IN THERE!!! RESULTS WILL COME OUT SOON ENOUGH!
@youbetterstop they better accept a lot of low-income students cuz i wanna go to tasp, lmao
They don’t necessarily accept a lot of Low-income students like the better app always wins out, they just make sure cost ain’t a factor what so ever in attending.
Welp, looks like we’re going to be waiting until next week afterall y’all
Oh, well. I was looking forward to finding out, but now I think most of the anxiousness has passed. I keep telling myself that I didn’t get in that way I am not disappointed when I don’t, and if I do get in, its a pleasant surprise.
So, when you say next week do yall mean Monday or could it take 4 to 5 days from now
could be either or, the only information we know is that they’ll be out by the end of the Friday workday
