Taylor Swift Phenomenon

Have so much fun!!

We have 3 IMAX tickets for Sunday morning. I was surprised my husband readily said he’d go! My sister is going too so it will be 3 old people going together with no young ones in tow. I’m thinking we might feel a little out of place but I don’t care. Maybe we’ll even wear some Eras tour friendship bracelets!

I wonder if they’ll have the t-shirts for sale at the movie theaters.

My daughter went to the concert and her ticket was $50 (very nose bleed). She spend $200 on three t-shirts (one for her, one for her sister, one for a friend who had gone to the concert in Boston but couldn’t get a t-shirt.

The merch trucks were set up a day early at the stadium and people were camping out to just buy stuff. And it was HOT on the days of her concerts.

I bet people will be standing up and dancing at the Imax shows. Pick your seats carefully.

My DIL was got free tix (from work) to see the concert in Philly. My son was kind of hoping I’d go with her so he didn’t have to. They wound up going together, even though neither is a “Swiftie.” Both agreed it was an amazing concert. I may see the movie eventually. I’m impressed with Taylor Swift for multiple reasons, and she’s certainly helped the economy this year.

Went on line and saw that the small theater in my neighborhood is selling tickets - October 13-29.
We will be traveling October 13-27, so D and I have tickets to see it on the 29th.

I am not a hard core Swiftie and definitely don’t even fit that demographic, but do appreciate many of her songs. Some great storytelling, emotional and poetic at times. Joni Mitchell was who I loved when I was much younger.

Will my sister and I look ridiculous as 60 somethings if we show up at the movie wearing friendship bracelets? Nice to have something fun to anticipate. I’m looking forward to the movie! Who knows, maybe I’ll turn into a hardcore Swiftie after all!

When I was checking out the times and movie theaters, I notice there was a senior discount (no other discounts or passes accepted) so they are ready for you.

Well, our local theater is showing the Taylor Swift ERAs movie in the most posh theater with reclining seats and prices as low as $13.13 for kids and SRs and >$25 for others and better seats. All seats reserved.

I’m 57 and don’t care if I look ridiculous, I’m going to the movie and concert and may even put glitter in my hair.

H and I saw the Eras movie last night. I can say H’s taste in music runs more towards Rage Against the Machine than Swift but he really enjoyed the film and he wasn’t just being nice. It was a 6:30 showing and not every seat was filled. A real mix of people - children who were way too young to be there to people like me. H was definitely the oldest man there. There was a lot of singing along. It was a fun way to spend an evening and H commented that he had a far better understanding of Swift and “her fans” after seeing the film.

Hadn’t planned to see the movie but now am curious. Was it as good as going to a concert?

I’ll ask H what he thought as I am biased! The concert experience is so incredible the movie can’t compare. The movie gives you a lot closer view of Swift than being at the concert, even if you were in one of the $$$$ seats.

I’m looking forward to seeing the movie. She is a genius at growing her business, and I really admire her. Plus, I like her music.

I recall thinking that Shake it Off was a terrible song … and years later, it brings a smile to my face when I hear it. She knew what she was doing with that song. And her collaborations with Bon Iver & The National are just amazing. Her constant reinvention while keeping her “old” music somehow current blows my mind. The woman is in her early 30’s and running her own multibillion dollar business. Of course she has help, but clearly she is running the show. Just wow.

She has an incredible command of the stage - I think that’s what struck me the most. And the songs - even though I’m older, the lyrics strike a chord. She’s an incredibly talented woman.

I saw it last night and I loved every minute of it. I chose to see it in an IMAX for better sound and no reclining seats. I really think that made it similar to a concert. It was full, people were singing dancing clapping and fist pumping. It was a lot of fun. The atmosphere wouldn’t be the same in a near empty theater were everyone reclined.

I already have a tix to her live show for next year and certainly need to learn some of the songs better but I can’t wait.

We saw it last night and also saw her live in concert at SOFI where they filmed the movie. Both were amazing! We had nosebleed seats (literally the very top row of the stadium!) when we saw her live so the movie was great seeing everything up close.

I’m going to see it Thursday and really looking forward to it.
