Teacher suspended for bum-print art

Controversial art teacher Stephen Murmer was dismissed last night from his job at Chesterfield County’s Monacan High School because of “conduct unbecoming of a teacher.”</p>

<p>“It is not the art” that led to Murmer’s dismissal, outgoing Chesterfield School Board Chairman Marshall Trammell said after the board made its unanimous vote. “It is the disruption in the classroom.”</p>

<p>Trammell said it’s only reasonable to think that school employees’ actions outside school can affect what happens inside schools.
