Technology Is Passing Me By

Grumpy old people :)

Our first carphone was a bag phone. Remember those things?

Yes!!! Since then I’ve had numerous ‘flip phones’ , a palm pilot, a treo, a blackberry and now a droid, not to mention an iPad, probably 6 PCs, 2 laptops, Alphasmart Dana, and 1 netbook over the years (and those were just my toys, doesn’t include hubby’s). Kids today think they invented technology. Not so.

I have just gotten comfortable with FB, and I have enjoyed keeping in touch with family, looking at photos, etc. I only “friend” people I have a relationship with so my list is quite small and manageable, like a comfy coffeehouse. NOW, my S sends me an invite to Google+. He’s just trying to mess with me; I know he is … lol. I am comic relief in his day. :)

@JoJoBear-- I like flip phones because they remind me of classic Star Trek communicators. Small in size high capacity flash drives remind me of the “data crystals” concept they used on Babylon 5. My new sleek laptop looks like the computer on Captain Picard’s desk from Next Generation. I’m enjoying today’s streamlined gadgets that were only in sci-fi a decade or two ago, and yet am still spry enough to enjoy them. How great is that you young whippersnapper?
