i would suck at life w/o friends.
i dont care what job i have as long as im making money although money would never buy health.
no amount of money could cure you of cancer or diabetes currently.

I care A LOT about…

(4) Good health considering that this pretty much affects everything unless you have superhuman amounts of willpower - which I don’t High level of educational attainment it depends on how you define it - I would much rather be knowledgeable without credentials than with credentials and unknowledgable Satisfying and fulfilling career (not necessarily lucrative) [considering that I’ll lose a lot of time to that]

I can live without…

(5) Solid friendships [it would be better if I had friends who were willing to talk to me and who could understand a lot of my rather abstruse thoughts. But I’m fine alone].
(3) Wealth (making lots of money) [there are a few things money can buy - especially with biomedical research making huge advances at the moment]

Who cares?

(6) Prestige (well-known, respected, held in high regard) stressful, although if it nets me more people who are willing to take my ideas, I suppose A great marriage or life partner [marriage = prison]

Now, if humans were a different species, then I MIGHT move up (5) or (1). But considering that humans are the way they are now - they’re both low on my list. I’m not particularly fond of humans as of now (though I may find their behaviors amusing)

oldbutwise is a ■■■■■ on CC who hates Ivies and other top colleges. He feels that kids these days are too obsessed with getting into a “good” school that they lose sight on what is truly important. If anyone put #6 as their top priority here they need serous help.

I ranked a satisfying and fulfilling career ahead of a great marriage and solid friendships because being unhappy at work (where I’ll likely spend most of my waking hours) would inevitably have a negative impact on my self-esteem, my emotional and intellectual fulfillment, and my relationships with others; my mother is an example of that. That isn’t to say that I consider work to be more important than relationships, only that I need to be satisfied with my own life before I can play a positive role in someone else’s. It’s a close call.

I’m home alone for a few days while my parents go on vacation.

I don’t really talk with anyone in real life anymore.

It’s like the most liberating thing I could ever have.

I have all the time in the world to study what I want to. The only limit is my dopamine (which, alas, exhausts itself - I sometimes get tired of studying even though I highly value the knowledge I gain from it)

I’m happier than I can ever be like this.

If I didn’t have to get a job for money, this is the type of lifestyle that I’d want to live. Free to do whatever I want, home alone. House arrest is no punishment for me. Socialization tires me very quickly (a lot more than it used to) - and I now only socialize only when I want to acquire information
