Telemarketer nerve

<p>I don’t have a land line but I get them on my personal cell occasionally. I also get them on my work line which is a bit strange. I’ve never gotten any on my work cell though.</p>

<p>Most companies use different systems for dialing out and dialing in. When we dial out to someone from work some phone companies will display our company name on the caller id and others will display unknown. It’s strange.</p>

<p>I get them on my cell phone as well, the robo type and you have to wait for the entire message for them to say “Push 1 or 2 or 3 to be put on our do not call list”. I don’t know if it actually puts you on a list or sets you up for more calls but cell phones are not immune.</p>

I’ve been tempted to do what Seinfeld did in one of his episodes. Ask the telemarketer for his/her phone number. When asked why, say something like–because I want to call you when (fill in the blank such as–when you’re watching your favorite TV show, when you’re making dinner, when you’re sitting on the toilet, etc.).

<p>That was classic.</p>

<p>However, the best trick played on a telemarketer was something I heard on a radio show. I was going to describe it, but I didn’t want to ruin it.</p>
