Tell me about Milwaukee!

I don’t think the train goes to O’Hare. The stations in Milwaukee are at the airport (Mitchell Field) and downtown; the station in Chicago is Union Station (downtown). The train takes 90 minutes. There is, however, bus service between Milwaukee and O’Hare. The company is called Coach USA.

Hey @Nova10, I’m wondering how you rent an apartment in Wisconsin without heat?

My limited knowledge of Milwaukee: The botanical gardens in Milwaukee are suppose to be lovely. The airport is very nice and is often cheaper than flights out of O’Hare. There are several nice Irish pubs there too. We stayed at the County Clare B & B once and really liked it. One other feature is that you are only a couple of hours away from Door County!

Amtrak does not go to O’Hare. They would have to take it from Milwaukee to Union Station in Chicago (about an hour and a half), then transfer to either the CTA line, or Metra North Central service line out to O’Hare. It’s about 30 minutes on the Metra line and about an hour on the CTA (Blue Line), but the CTA runs much more frequently, whereas the Metra runs less frequently (it’s the Chicago metro area suburban transportation system). However, once you get to Union station on Amtrak, you’ll have to walk approximately two blocks to the closest CTA Blue Line stop. If you take the Metra line, you can transfer within Union Station.

Milwaukee has been called cream city for its brick. It’s soda in Milwaukee (no L) and pop in Madison. Those videos were fun. Tons more place names to mispronounce in Wisconsin. btw- learn how to pronounce that correctly as well. Learn what a bubbler is.
