Telluride Assocation Summer Program (TASP) 2014

:) I agree with everyone about not being disappointed if you are not admitted, etc. I received my rejection letter from TASP in the 1st round and was really disappointed and depressed for days. I tried applying to SIMR, SSP, Clark Scholars next and was rejected by both SIMR and SSP. Clark Scholars, the program that I thought I had the least chance at, actually accepted me. In the end, I now get to go to an awesome program 5 hours’ drive away from where I live. So way less transportation fee compared to the other programs I applied to.
Even before I was accepted at Clark Scholars, though, I already had plans made for my summer(getting driver’s license, research with friend locally, tutor kids, work part time, and write essays for ED —there are always plenty to do!) if I was rejected by all the programs. So I am happy either way.
So, the morale of my long post is…don’t be sad, there are always alternate options out there and wonderful experiences you can have in the summer even if you are not accepted to your dream program.
