I can supply the nuts, but your going to have to bring the ice cream. Be warned, walking through the mall with a tub of ice cream might look kinda crazy.

I’ll have to do it on stilts, then, so no one will notice the ice cream.

D-Yu – although you probably won’t see this until I go to bed…

“i’m only using the UN as my conduit to power.”

The UN, having little to no power itself, can do nothing. It has no forces of its own, and even those few borrowed from nations are “peace-keeping” troops who barey know how to hold guns. And bureaucracy of the UN is too muddled to even begin to seize power; they’d probably make it go through the Security Council first anyways
There is no way that Ban-Ki Moon could take over the world through the UN, even if he wanted to (as with the UN, the Secretary General similarly lacks any power whatsoever). Nukes is the way to go, my friend, or rather…

ARCHNEMESIS (which is not a real word…and therefore is unlikely to be found in a dictionary)

According to wikipedia (and you can quibble about the accuracy all you like…)
“An archenemy, archfoe, archvillain or archnemesis is the principal enemy of a character in a work of fiction. In comic books, the term refers to a recurring supervillain who is regarded as a superhero’s most hated foe.”

Some definitions are more than just the sum of their parts…just adding together “arch” and “nemesis” doesn’t complete the picture :)

Wink! How goes it?

Does anybody else have TASP fever? Outta nowhere, it hit me this week…

Yesterday, I was hit pretty bad. I definitely don’t want to spend this summer in my one-horse town, especially after last summer. I babysat for my cousin in Germany and she took me all over Europe on her vacations. It was a fun time. (:

lol, what’s TASP FEVER? I just want to get into TASP, but since there’s nothing I can do about it now… I’ll just wait it out. I hope I have a chance at interviews at least, but it is a very self selecting group anyway… so maybe not

I honestly haven’t thought about TASP since I hit the “submit” button…
Except to read everyone else’s essays, but even that was purely out of interest in other people’s ideas, nothing actually about TASP itself.

I’m not getting my hopes up.

Earil, that sounds amazing.
I was stuck in summer school. 5 hours of P.E. per day. I nearly died.

Five hours? That sounds infinitely torturous.

It was. I got to play with babies and see Roman ruins and do all sorts of tacky touristy things in London… Absolutely brilliant.

Hey papercrane. Well, TASP fever is the all-consuming virus that causes one’s mind to be consumed by nothing but TASP and having awesome fun with other TASPlicants over the summer. Symptoms include stalking last year’s TASP thread, reading over their experiences, and drawing doodles of the letters T-A-S-P on all of your notebooks.

Anybody home?

Yes, only deeply immersed in calculus and APE.

Hmm, that’s what i SHOULD be doing, but what fun would it be if we did what we are supposed to? Screw destiny.

Mm, I’m watching the convo, just reading too. The Good People of New York, by Thisbe Nissen. It’s great so far.

ahh i had the fever but what kills is i want to get some college apps done as soon as possible but tasp would have me sitting in cornell (hopefully) which would keep me away from all my files. now while i do not object at ALL to this option it keeps bugging me. cept im not doodling.
hudson: boys doodle in their notebooks?

That’s a good talk point, what is everybody else reading?

I’m reading The First Men in the Moon by H.G. Wells. I know, it’s sci-fi, but I just felt like being entertained when I picked it up.

MLS, Hudson’s not just any boy. He’s Don Juan! He can doodle if he wants to!

I’m also reading this book of short stories about Germans and their lives living with the legacy of their history. It’s interesting, but not as good as The Good People of New York. I started reading a book of Mark Twain’s essays, too.

Panicpower, the secrets of doodling are not solely owned by girls. (:
Your already planning your apps, MLS!? where to you, if you don’t mind me asking.

What the heck does that last sentence mean? I meant to say, “Where do you plan to apply?”

cira you have enlightened me.lol. and im not reading anything cept one flew over the cuckoo’s nest (for the second time, this time for school) i really wanna finish walden though. : (

yes i am, lol but im such a indesicive ho. i have like 12 schools : ( i wanna narrow it down though cuz i feel like im not zooming in on any one thing. but the ones i really want are: umich, uflorida, urochester, cornell, spelman ( i will so get in i love HBCU’s, but all girl is a turn off ), and columbia. i gave half dont want to be all omg conceited. but like 8 of them are on common app so it all good. i have 5 i have to do through the school. i dunno if i have the endurance for that though.

i figured it out anyway. i can read your mind. and your a nut seller? your gonna be one of those annoying, lonely kiosk people?

I need to make up my list and maybe visit some this year. Hopefully, I’ll be seeing a lot of Cornell this summer crosses fingers and knocks on wood But probably not.

I’ve thought seriously about Cornell and Colgate (though that’s kind of out in the sticks), would kill for Princeton or Brown or Yale or Harvard, of course, and generally think I want to go East Coast somewhere. Couldn’t stand the heat or humidity of the South. I like snow.
