<p>I hate the group over individual thing. It’s a good idea in theory, in terms of the survival of the species, but I doubt very many individuals would be readily willing to sacrifice themselves for the group. We are selfish like that, and such a philosophy to be practical requires a higher sense of altruism amongst everyone, everyone must be willing to martyr themselves for the group, or it fails. I prefer freedom over security (and yes, I am an armchair politician –> I do love that term). Honestly, if it came down to it, most people would probably say that the prince’s life is more important than the life of another ordinary soldier, simply because he is of royal blood and symbolic of the strength/virility nation. Or something like that. You can bash me now.</p>

<p>haha i posted last night and I came back today and i couldn’t find my last post. wow you guys are pretty darn talkative… i like it :)</p>
<p>anyways… 130 applying in CC? that’s a lot. i read that west coast is being notified now. i wonder when us internationals are being notified. thailand is somewhere on the other side of the earth so i guess that qualifies for west and south… ? </p>
<p>either way, I just want to get the ‘welcome to TASP’ email. or more like ‘be prepared for your interview on ___’ mail. </p>
<p>about the cornell 1 program… yeah. i didn’t see how blogging helps me understand culture… ? i like hands-on, visual, smelling, hearing, talking stuff, not blogging. i dunno about you guys, but it sounded pretty passive. </p>
<p>im so tired… after church i went to my friend bday shopping… ended up getting a book for her (it was very cute) after 2 hours of searching. im dead now… i have thai tutor in about 3 hours n i really need to be getting my work done… </p>

<p>i think they do send you an email or something if you dont get in. they said by march 7th people could call in so if you dont know by then, pick up the phone i guess. dont know about internationals though.</p>
<p>yeah, guys, i emailed telluride and it said, three words: “After March 7.”</p>
<p>dunno if that means ON march 7 or whatever (is their office open on saturdays… anyone know?)… but… mhmm. They probably actually do have most of the decisions by now though and are just deciding close calls / neck-to-neck applicants… well at least that is how i think of it</p>

<p>Mist: in reference to the Cornell I program, it is only a description, and they often dont do the actual seminar justice. i remember TASPers from last year saying that what they were doing and what they thought it was going to be about were two different things. none the less they enjoyed it. i have faith in TA :)</p>
