Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

Well, Dan Gilbert’s perspective, anyway…

Donny, where are your romantic ideals? I wouldn’t have expected such near-pessimism from you.

Baby animals always look so sad.

Classik - I remember learning about that experiment. It would probably be banned under the current APA guidelines now, though. But it was very interesting/enlightening, and really said a lot about human need for comfort. (Even though the subjects were monkeys).

i like it.

not true mi amigo de computadora, i do get joy out of being able to hang out with my friends for longer than normally feasible.

and i’d hate to think i have friends just so they would look at me, couldnt a mirror do that?

Yes, but you don’t have to hang out with them for a longer time each time you see them to keep getting happier.

When you realize that nothing has real value and that anything can happen at any moment, you admire the beauty of chaos and thus value everything so much more when something good happens to you.

Hold up, I never said I was exempt from the system. I thrive on human contact, no doubt… I just like thinking about it. Not complaining about the nickname though, don get me wrong.

i agree with your last post cira.

how can you value something more when it has no value to begin with?

I’m off to bed everyone (well, actually, to address the pile of homework on my bed).
Good night.

night fridge. keep working on the manifesto!

and hermit it is. thank you cira for the idea.

Yes, but there’s also a very good chance that nothing crazy will happen, and what will occur is just one of the most likely choices. Real value doesn’t exist, only relative value exists. No one can really understand everything, just some of the things they experience, if they’re lucky.

I think I’m to the point where I’m just refuting you to be contrary. (: Actually, I might not even be disagreeing with you at all. I can’t tell anymore.

Mls, you instill your own values on things. Just because a PB&J has no ultimate universal value, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have any value to Stephen Hudson.

Je suis une pomme de terre.

Hudson, what part of florida are you in?

ok i understand what you meant now, thanks for the clarification.

and with that i must depart. eyelids getting heavy…fingers typing slower…

and what about a potato?

Yes you are, you French scum. (:

Let’s hope no one gets vichyssoises cravings, then, non?

Have you ever noticed that the French are totally to blame for both WWII and the Vietnam War?

Wow, and the whole ugly conversation makes a complete full circle back at soup. I’m lost for words.

South Florida, Classik.

Cira, I’m with you I think we started agreeing a few posts ago. (:
The pitfalls of delayed posting as a form of debating.

Ooh, do you live near the ocean?

Soup is probably the alpha and omega of all online discussion. With Hitler thrown in for Godwin’s sake.

Not really, Cira, but seeing as Florida is a peninsula, I’m much closer to the sea than most other Americans.
