Had my interview yesterday! I’m relieved that it’s over with. The experience wasn’t too stressful, and I think it went ok…
Good luck everyone!

Now for the long wait till April…

Now for the long wait till April…

I finally called because I wasn’t notified about an interview. It’s set for next Saturday. I’m so glad, because I have two mini exams the day before, and now I don’t have to worry about an impending TASP interview before them.

:D

^ Aww, that’s fantastic… some of the interview accounts from last year were literally horror stories.

If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of questions were posed?

i called in yesterday, but all the lady gave me was my interviewer’s name ):
she said to expect a call sometime this week, however…
i’ve been getting more and more nervous by the day!!

the wait until results are posted is going to be unbearable. (:

… looks like I’m the latest to be interview. I haven’t known anything but the date (march 30th). It’s like decades away arghhhhhhhhhhhh
I’m reading THe Great Gatsby. Anyone wrote their essays on it? I just think a little discussion outside of interview or waiting process can ease the stress

So I had my interview today
She was really really nice and friendly, I was jumping around the room expecting to be grilled when the clock hit 2 pm, but I actually enjoyed my interview and was disappointed that it was over after 1 1/4 h.
I actually think it went too well as she said too many good things about my essays and answers, but maybe I’m just paranoid ._.
The issues we touched included human dignity, freedom of speech, the mohammed drawings and a lot of others that related to my essays.
Mine was probably less “grilling” and formal than most of yours I guess.

you can all do it, good luck!

I had my interview today as well. It went really well (I think and hope). I think I may have rambled a bit, but regardless of whether or not I get in to TASP, I feel that it was a good interview. We spoke for a little over an hour. She mostly spoke about my essays and her questions branched out from my responses.

A guy from TASP called, and told me my interview is on the 29th. He didn’t seem very friendly, and he isn’t my interviewer, either. So, I don’t have the slightest clue of what is going on. On top of that, my interviewer’s name is Cameron. Which is the most gender-vague name evvvverrr. I’m so nervous. I hope I get a nice interviewer, but I have I feeling I’ll be the horror story type.

^ Try to look him / her up on Facebook (if you were told the interviewer’s last name). You never know what might turn up!

I had my interview yesterday. It was actually really fun, although I’m not sure did well because there was so much rambling and so many run-ons and sentences that ended with a completely different grammatical structure than they had at the beginning.

I was interviewed by two people who seemed really cool and eager to make me feel comfortable; they talked a lot about there own ideas, too. A lot of the questions were like, Consider this idea. Now just theorize about it. It was really informal. We barely touched on the book list at all, and there were no mentions of current events.

hope everyone on this thread can get in :)

Guys, would you be willing to reject a really good summer program on the 50-50 chance that you would be accepted to TASP?

Hellz yes. TASP > Other nooby programs. Plus, who can resist this program after reading this enormous thread?

The more I read this thread, the more nervous I’m getting. Is there anyone out there who HASN’T been contacted by their interviewer? I received a letter saying that I’m granted an interview, but that was last week… :-/

I still think it’s weird that I never got a letter… Just an email from my interviewer.

A Question for those granted interviews:

Did any of you expressly decline to attend one or more of the TASP programs on your application when listing your preferences?
Thanks.

MY INTERVIEW IS TOMORROW MORNING!!
I AM FRICKIN SCARED.

and yeah, i expressly stated that i wouldn’t want to attend the Caribbean dialogues one. not a big fan of blogging.

ajkcorner1, I’m in the same situation. And I applied for both in case I’m not approved for TASP

BAH. Me too…well, I don’t know if I’ll make it to either, but my summer will either be TASP or intense preparation for the National Flute Association Solo competition…It all depends on whether I get into TASP/final 7 D : Chances are in the NEITHER pot so…good luck to me!!

Is anyone else post-interview unable to check the restless impulse to look at their e-mail in vague, subconscious hope that there will be something along the lines of, “We usually don’t tell people that they’re in or out until we’ve tortured them for at least a month, but you’re so fierce that we’re telling you now: Welcome to TASP!”

Seriously, TASP: April 30th? You don’t need that long to decide on everybody’s fates, and we KNOW. We’re watching you.

Karajanhra. “You’re so fierce!”

Curious… If you did so, do not worry. Last year for TASS and this year for TASP (Hollywood–Africa) I stated I would not like to attend the seminar.

For TASS I actually said I would be doing myself a disservice by attending one of the seminars. Lol

No worries, they wouldnt ask you to specify if they would hold it against you. After all TA is not evil.
