hey i know i’m joining this about 69 pages late…
lol but i applied to TASP this year too and I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one who procrastinated on the essays…I mean, I’ve known about it for months, but IB kinda ties up your free time. -_-

Anyway, I just kinda had a mini panic-attack when I read about PSAT scores but remembered its in my transcripts.

I was hoping to get input from any of you on my essays, which were the following:

Critnal: How Uglies by Scott Westerfield is a satire of the American society’s desire for perfect looks

Problem of Interest: When doctors are overassertive and underassertive in patient care, which results in patients’ future complications…like, when should they be either/or ? Because sometimes patients don’t care about their problem, they want to relieve immediate pain and forget everything else…which is just as detrimental as being over/underassertive as a doctor.

Conflict: Dealing with misunderstandings in leadership positions in school (oh god…lmao)

Future Plans: I’m gonna be a cardiovascular surgeon or perhaps cardiothoracic surgeon after getting a degree in Chemical Bio or Biochemistry, depending on the school. <3 TASP lol

Seminar Thing: Cornell 2, U Mich, UT, Cornell 1

Book List: Jane Eyre, Catch-22, Macbeth, Pride and Prejudice, Uglies, Pretties, Harry Potter 7, Scarlet Letter, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Huck Finn, 1984, House of the Spirits, The Things They Carried, The Alchemist, Cry The Beloved Country, Small Wonder, High Tide in Tucson, Complications: A Surgeon’s Notes on an Imperfect Science

I realized that if I was applying online I had needed to have my recommendations sent a week before i found that out, so I had to write my essays in two days and then rush to school to pick up my recs and send it in the mail to get it postmarked with that day’s date to meet the postmark deadline. -_- It was exhilarating. I’m never doing it again though… lol

Anyone else in IB?
