Telluride Association Summer Program ( TASP ) 2008

That’s the problem with parents, that they think that though. They have a touch time accepting the fact that the baby is its own human being, not their pet.

I believe it. ;)

nope animals have love i think. they protect each other. and some cases the humans they might live with. might not be for the exact same kind of love but i believe they have a form

I think Earilmadith is coming to the light side! let the warm feelings wash over you.

What biological benefits are there to romantic love? Other than the fact that it’s supposed to get two people to stick together long enough to raise kid or two? Is it gasp just an accessory to what would otherwise be short, brutal existences with no biological explanation behind it?

Animals have loyalty and er, tribal bonds. Not love. I’d say that it’s purely human.

It’s only 'cause I have my blankie now…

ok we have to throw some sunshine on wink.
and yes don juan was a womanizer didnt know about the hell part…good thing your an atheist.
and donny your an idealist but you are often accused of the armchair view. how does that work?

“and yes don juan was a womanizer didnt know about the hell part”

That’s why I found love advice from Don Juan here so strange!

If a guy was still in love with his kids’ mother, he’d be less likely to procreate with his daughters.

You all talk about biology and genetics, as if we live int the jungle. We drive cars , get our food from supermarkets, and stay indoors more than not. We aren’t THAT driven by primal instincts.

yeah, earlier impressions had me pegging you more on the heartless end. hmm. mls wrong again.lol.

“ok we have to throw some sunshine on wink.”

I don’t mind staying frigid.
 <– does that get me any sunshine-y points?

Not anymore, Donny, but not too long ago, evolutionarily speaking, we were.

I think he’s heartless about everything but love. It’s interesting.

earil WHAT SICKO IS PROCREATING WITH THEIR CHILDREN???

“You all talk about biology and genetics, as if we live int the jungle. We drive cars , get our food from supermarkets, and stay indoors more than not. We aren’t THAT driven by primal instincts.”

Actually, you would be surprised…
Humans believe they are so sophisticated and above biological and behaviorist tendencies. Clearly you are a humanist; I have nothing against that. But the fact that the vast majority of human behaviors can be explained by genetics, instinct, or conditioning speaks for something.

None. Well, very, very few. We’re genetically designed not to to promote genetic diversity. Love is a part of that.

that’s like 5 points wink. you should be a free hugs person.

and i think its the perfect paradox. or a favorable one anyway. refering to donny.

Holy God. What happened to the thread?

Panicpower, the armchair view isn’t cynical, if anything it IS idealistic. An armchair view is where someone who has always had food in his belly has the opinion that homeless people should grow their own food. The armchair view says what the world should be, as spoken by somebody that has never led a difficult life.

I feel like I’m being too serious and you are all conspiring some elaborate joke against me. But that’s OK, because I’m frigid and am racist against you all!

I really like the word frigid. It describes me well.

It got hungry and ate a whale and now it’s THIIIIIIIIIIS big.
