Same here. I was upset last night that I did almost nothing. Sometimes efforts aren’t equal to good outcomes. I spent lots of time thinking, writing and editting right before my Jan SAT test and now it turns out that I fail both.

Now I am panicking since an English presentation is coming in a few hours.

Argh. I just about fainted when I saw “Inbox (1)”, but it was just an email from my dad. Sometimes I wish he wouldn’t email my mom and I every step of the way of his business trips.

hello-
I got the email informing me I was a finalist yesterday as well
I also happen to be a UWC student, and I saw one of my potential first years earlier in this thread, so I just wanted to say : if you need help/information/rambling about UWC, do PM me :)

yeah I was pretty bummed out last night. I honestly didn’t do much either, except read over my essays. I liked my essays. this is disappointing, but we’ll see by Friday I guess

I called the Telluride Association office in New York and got to talk to a very nice lady this morning (Wednesday). I was told 107 applicants (out of thousands) will be invited for interview. Yesterday, they were in the midst of sending the invitation emails, and the computer died, thus only about 20 invitation emails were sent out successfully. They will continue sending the rest of them today and tomorrow.

My son #2 is among these who have not got the invite email yet. Let’s hope and pray some of us will get them today or tomorrow.

:D Really happy now. That’s awesome news, thank you. I know that doesn’t mean I’ll make it any further-but I’m confident (and I’m sure everyone else is too) that someone else on this forum will get in!

I also like to add that TASP is one of the most prestigious summer programs in US. By taking the initiative to apply for this program and complete these essays has already already demonstrated your desire and willingness to learn and challenge yourself, which is so critical for such a young age and will lead you to success no matter what you decide to do with your life.

My son #2 participated in several excellent math summer programs (PROMYS and AwesomeMath) and he decided to apply to TASP which is totally not math and science related. We are very proud of him no matter what the outcome is.

As far as we know, around 3 people from CC were invited for an interview so far.
However, only ~1/5 of notifications were sent out.
Therefore, we can extrapolate that around 15 people from CC might get an interview.
According to the list we’ve been making, there are something like 37 people who applied on this thread.
Therefore, 15/37 people have a chance of getting an interview, which is ~40%.

Okay, this is my way of keeping my hopes up. I don’t really think it’s going to be 15 people from CC, because that seems like a lot. And 3 people isn’t really anything to go by. But I had to put this out there anyway.

THE COMPUTER DIED???
I guess that’s a result of their budget crisis; as well as the cut in seminars.
I also did nothing last night.(but very productive before visiting this thread)
nearly 10% of applicants is getting invited, so it’s not plausible to see only about 5% of people in this forum survived the first cut.
Good Luck Everyone!

I just got off the phone with an older woman who said that ALL of the acceptances have been sent as of this morning (EST). Either email or snailmail for those who were not accepted.
