Telluride Association Summer Program (TASP) 2010

Do they notify you a week before or 2 weeks?
I agree with wombatsoup, a little more formal than casual.

Mine was at a Panera Bread. Completely casual. If it’s an office, go for business casual.

Oh, any LA area finalists out there? That’d be pretty boss. You may have my interviewer.

Congratulations to the finalists.

glassesarechic; it said in the tasp email policy about online networkig not to talk to each other…

Okay so more formal. But how formal exactly? I’m cool with a tie, but a jacket and tie seems kind of weird too me. I don’t know why…it would just make me look like I’m trying too hard, I think.

@silver: did you apply for this? I remember you were concerned about your PSAT for some program, I just don’t remember which.

Can’t go wrong with polos and nice pants/skirt.

I had been considering it, but I ultimately decided against it.

Oh, I just want to get in. This finalist situation is terrifying me.

Are we just supposed to wait to be contacted? I haven’t been yet

^^^^What KxA said, basically. You won’t look overdressed or ridiculously underdressed.

And it might take a while for you to be contacted, they have to coordinate suitable times first before they set you up with an interviewer (remember these people are volunteers). Don’t fret.

@nadia: yes.

That would be moi.

@nil, I thought you meant you couldn’t discuss it with your friends so I was a tad confused.

For a coffee shop interview (for a girl) are jeans out?

i’m leaning toward a non- low dress.
oh, i so need the comfort of the online community.

I wore jeans to my interview, which was at a coffee shop. Some people might see that as too casual, but I think it’s fine if that’s consistent with your personality and/or style.

My guidance counselor was about to mail my transcript today, but when I asked her if she had included grades from my correspondence courses, she said no. So she tore open the envelope, added my other grades, and then put it into a new envelope- the problem is that this time (I was in a hurry to get to class) I forgot to remind her to sign the seal. If my school did mail it, what should I do?

i’m sure its fine. signing the seal is pretty standard when it comes to sending official transcripts, and even if she didn’t, a) i doubt they would be suspicious unless there was something seriously wrong, but they might call the school to confirm your grades, since it is a small applicant pool and b) from what I hear, the transcript plays a small role in your overall acceptance.

Has anyone done the interview yet? just curious.

I have yet to be contacted and I’m starting to worry D:

If you haven’t been contacted yet and are starting to worry, it might not hurt to call the Telluride offices in Ithaca and ask them if they have any details about your interview yet. Don’t pester, but inquiring is fine since it’s been a little while since decisions were released.
