ummm wow
well…from ur post I can already tell u have amazing writing skills
I think ull be fine honestly, there really is no right or wrong when writing these essays, as long as they see ur insightful and have something in u, ull have a great chance of getting in.

(ok I prolly shouldnt be saying this cuz Im an applicant too

but yeah =) ull be fine, dont worry

@twentyseven
i disagreed with the author too! you write well! you’ll be fine (:

i need help on the conflicts essay though. i have NO idea what to write about. its the only one i have left. any suggestion?

@pinkumbrella10 You Sir, or Ma’am, are a stingy, lint-licking dingbat. Go feed on dog biscuits and French you very much. There you go, now you have a conflict… :wink: But really, there’s not much I can offer you except to comb your experiences for a possible conflict. Otherwise, I guess you could look to a worldwide conflict like the Ground Zero Mosque.

Best of luck to everyone! Currently finishing up 2 essays that I’ve worked halfway through on. Good thing I don’t have SATs this weekend. Oh wait, shoot.

@twentyseven27

Unless you had spent several grueling hours pondering upon how to write your previous post, I’m sure you’ll be just fine in crafting well regarded essays.

I on the other hand, am bother by the fact that my essays may sound to grandiose or desperately wanting to stick out. >.< so frustating.

Well anyways, I have a quick questions, does anyone know if having your goals and careers oriented in the subjects that are focused on at TASP (essay 4) would give one a higher chance of getting an interview?

I don’t mean to blatantly lie about one’s interests, but simply focus on the goals that are closely related to TASP’s curriculum.

@pandasftw I’m just a fellow applicant and have no role in admissions so I wouldn’t know but I think even before you put forth that question, you innately knew the only reasonable answer anyone could give in response already.

No, be yourself. As far as I can tell, TASP simply looks for diverse group of intellectual thinkers to produce the most enriching seminars possible and pays little regard to whether you’ve had background in one of the topics beyond actual seminar assignments.

However, for your future plans essay, you may want to pay a little more attention to grammar and spelling errors than you did in your post :)

Is anyone else hopelessly behind? I’m a distant halfway through 2, 3, and 5, I have an outline for 4 and the only one I have done is 6 (the booklist). And I haven’t even touched 1 yet. Dear God.

@coachella23: Thanks to the unrelenting nagging by my mother, I am actually not behind! I have finished all of my essays and am currently writing the conclusion to essay 1. Thank god for my mom! She is really merciless at times. :smiley: But I wish you the best of luck with your essays and MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU.

Congratulations (: You have no idea how much I want to be you hahah. Or just borrow your mom for a week. Good luck on your application!

@coachella23: yeah. i haven’t started, quite the problem :/

I got an email yesterday from the TASP website just reminding me that my app was due in a week. Gaaaah
lol

Yeah that’s true. Well thanks to the helpful posts on this topic I’ve come up with a better approach to essay 4.

Well Good luck everyone

T-minus 6 days until time’s up. XD

Uh-oh… decided to apply as of today! I decided I’d rather have another chance to attend a great summer program just in case my first option doesn’t work out. Essay 2 will definitely take some thought…
Hopefully no one else procrastinated like I did–Good look to everyone!

Buckle down; there are people who hammer out their essays just at the wire and are admitted.

So are taboo subjects a poor choice for the conflict essay?

Thank you SO much sister277, pinkumbrella, & pandasftw! While I am in no way completely satisfied with my essays, I now have some assurance that they are heading in the right direction. I’m finished with all of them now; should I hand over my fate and submit, or edit and re-edit and perhaps re-re-edit?

@principalv-- what do you consider taboo? personally, i think it’d make an interesting read and possibly make you stand out from other applicants

how many CCers do we have applying to TASP this year? (they did this last year =] )
