Mine were usually around 700 words or so.

Though I doubt length has any real influence on their decision except that longer essays have more analysis and depth…which isn’t necessarily true…
But oh well, who cares, WE’RE DONE!!! Par-tay.

My first one was 1000, second was 700, third was 1400, another was 700, and fourth was just 400…So I’ve got quite the range there and I feel like I should have spent more time expanding a few…

5 minutes before the deadline. wow. i decided to write the essays on a whim tonight and there’s no chance in hell of me getting in (my LONGEST essay was around 700 words…yeah) but i’m glad i at least applied.

:) I submitted. I am pretty satified with my essays, but I only made a list for the last one about the books I’ve read. And I made a typo on that list

Haha, I tried to submit about 5 minutes before the deadline and came up with one essay 44 words over somehow and another one word over. So I just deleted a paragraph I didn’t like haha.

Well, good luck to everyone who applied! I spent a ton of time on these essays so to the people who did them all tonight, I admire your courage. Whether or not I get accepted, I personally felt the TASPlication process was enriching on its own! College essay material? Perhaps.

I thought I was too scared to read over my application, but I just skimmed it over and my essays look…better than I thought. At first glance, at least. I don’t notice any weird typos or grammatical errors so that’s a plus!

Holy **** the adrenaline is still pumping through me. So I just finished editing my last essay at about hmm, 11:57 and went to paste it in the box when I discovered that it was 200 words two long. Hence some very frenzied mutilation of my carefully constructed paragraphs, and the elimination of my entire conclusion paragraph. Went to submit it again (this is at 11:59), when the little red thing popped up and told me I had an invalid character in my 1450-word essay 4. Had to hunt word by word through the entire essay to discover that a single e was originally intended to have an accent above it. Pressed submit at literally the stroke of midnight.

I don’t think I’m going to be able to sleep now.

Coachella, the exact same thing happened to me. I had bullets in one of my essays (the hopes and plans one - it was an essay hybridization sort of thing), and it wouldn’t let me submit until I removed them. It ended up being 11:59 PST lol. I had adrenaline shooting out of my chest.

Well, I am going to call it a… morning? I am thoroughly satisfied with the way things turned out this morning. We all need some sleep. Thanks so much for answering my questions, everyone. The wait begins lol.

Whoop, submitted at eight last night. I was super pleased with essays 1, 3, and 4, and all of them ended up clocking in at over 1300 words. My 2 was only 800 or so, and kind of disjointed, but overall I’m pretty pleased with the work I put into these. Now we can only wait… and hope… and worry… x)

I just found out about TASP yesterday. Two of my essays ended up crappy while the rest were pretty good. It was still worth a shot though. Who else is in a different time zone? Because I’m 12 hours ahead of the Pacific time zone so I got to submit my essay on January 25th by noon instead of January 24th at midnight. I started freaking out when my school’s internet connection was screwing up at around 11:45am. Anyways, good luck to everyone else!
