“Temple draws heavily on NY, NJ and the mid-Atlantic.”

No offense but this really is not true. Temple is 86% PA residents! Few come from NJ except for those that are rejected by better-and-less-expensive Rutgers (in-state tuition versus out-of-state tuition). Temple is a decent school for the price but is not a place to come from afar (i.e. not a destination college). The in-state tuition is really what makes people attende Temple. It serves southeast PA well. If you are from out of state, you are better off saving your money and going to your local state school.

I am not trying to insult Temple as it has some very good programs - especially for graduate studies.
