Temporary drape hanging

Now my husband is involved and is changing my suggestion! He wants to go buy large sheets of cardboard and cut two pieces to tape to the window frame; this after I thought about foam boards as Amazon has some larger pieces, but not large enough. I am at the point where I may tape the USPS boxes back up; they worked before!

Actually two large pieces of cardboard would be great if we can get it. There is a local box store that I will check with tomorrow and see, but my goal was to order on Amazon and get this done by Thursday. Why do I always make everything so difficult?

Is there an appliance store near you? Maybe the have a fridge box you could have. Call and ask.

Command actually makes curtain rod hooks that are meant to be non-damaging to the wall and offer a temporary solution. You might have to replace them each visit; I don’t know if they are reusable, but doubt it.

White butcher paper or something similar would be easy to attach to cardboard to make the view of the window from outside neutral and “not cardboard”.

Following the link above, the hooks are reusable with a new strip. Could just leave the hooks up, as well. Weight would be the issue to be concerned about I would think. Nicer view from exterior.

I have actually used these (although not the blackout version). They come with the glue that’s on post-it notes.

The other thing you could do is drape a dark sheet over the baby’s crib; anchor it to each leg, for safety.

@oldmom4896 Those could work, but would they stay up on a painted surface? I would have to do an outside mount due to my blinds and I think they might let light in as I would have to use 2 as the window is 87" wide.

My husband had decided to use large moving boxes, which we have in our attic. We will cut them opened as we don’t need it so thick, and put the none printed side on the window so my neighbors don’t complain about the look. The baby will be here 2 weeks, so it will need to stay up the entire time.

They stayed up for me. I bought them in the store. You could take a look.

Quick question: @snowball What about the light from the smoke detector? Does the room have a smoke detector without the annoying green light? I’ve been looking for one for years.
