<p>It is no different than “supporting the troops”. Yes, the conservatives support them going to war, but do one support them with enough veteran funding or benefits when they come home maimed and psychologically ruined. </p>
<p>Similarly, since when do cells trump a living, breathing child? The same people who trumpet anti-abortion causes (as is your right) are the first ones to opposed any sort of “entitlement” spending. </p>
<p>If anti-abortionists really believe in the sanctity of “life”, they would be opposed to the death penalty and war. Most aren’t. And they should also put their money where their mouths are and support programs for children who are already in this world, particularly those with no health care (millions), substandard education (millions), poverty (millions).</p>
<p>THX-Rowe vs Wade was not a decision that impacted everyone. Those people who are pro-life because or religious or moral reasons are perfectly free to do as they choose. Only pro-life legislation impacts everyone regardless of their moral or religious belief or lack thereof.</p>

And those who are against slavery are perfectly free to not have slaves but how dare they try to impose their morals on those who have no moral issue with slavery.</p>
<p>ff, in some(many?) people’s minds there is vast difference between a person and an unviable fetus in the womb. And that is where the moral/religious contention exists. FWIW, I am opposed to third trimester elective abortion because of the viability issues and I believe there are relative few doctors who will consent to this “proceedure”.</p>
<p>In those rare cases where the mother’s life is in danger I am reluctant for the government to have the final say. The choice in these heartbreaking cases should be the families’s, a Solom-like choice for sure.</p>
<p>Living in Bible-thumping, church-on-nearly-every-corner Tennessee, I guess I’m not terribly surprised by the right-wing movement to do such a thing. Personally, I don’t believe it is my business, or the business of anyone else, if someone chooses to abort. The people who support this bill are probably the same ones who flipped off my daughter and told her she was going to hell when she was working the polls, supporting the democrats.</p>

<p>If everyone who was using any form of birth control would just register as required by the NPSL Authorization Act of 2003 at their local county clerk’s office for a NPSL license (Non-Procreational Sex License) at a nominal fee we’d be halfway home. All fees collected will continue to be earmarked for the F.B.I. (Faith - Based Initiatives). </p>
<p>Behind the clerk’s counter in “plain wrapper” there is clear information available for each birth control modality used showing the deadly and demeaning risks of use , and of course we continue with our very popular on the spot Non-Religious Biblically based counseling. </p>
<p>The NPSL license fees themselves are based on a sliding scale - the younger you are the more it costs as based on data collected a 21 year old of either sex will be using the license on average a 100 times more often in a year than male 50 year olds . If you are extremely ugly the license could be free but you have to apply with an “Ugly’s affidavit” attached to Form 2:01 a.m. attested to by a professional bartender after closing time.</p>

Before traveling to the romantic climes think about an up-grade license. There have been some horror stories where people had to use the more expensive internet license immediate up-grade option on trips to Barbados . <p>I don’t normally get into these discussions, but thought you folks discussing this would like to hear what is mulling around in the GA legislature. Besides HB1, trying to ban abortion altogether (feel free to discuss that one…) they are trying to pass a bill (HB 147) requiring all women to have an ultrasound before undergoing an abortion. Why? There is no medical reason for this. And it is expensive. They “claim” that it provides more information to the mother. Like the mother doesn’t already know whats going on? That’s insulting. This is pure and simple intimidation. But why should I be surprised? This is that great state where Rep. Ben Bridges’s office just sent out a memo <a href=“http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/012504.php[/url]”>http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/012504.php</a> saying that the theory of evolution was a Jewish conspiracy, and also directed its readers to the website fixedearth.com (who proclaim that the earth doesnt rotate on its axis, not does it rotate around the sun.)
