Hello everyone, sorry if I have been a little MIA but I’m so happy to notify everyone that we also got the 7 tabs this morning and Blinn Team showed up on manage applications yesterday. One question I do have is that is it normal for the change major button to go away after Blinn team and 7 tabs show up? AIS has not show acceptance just yet.
I just want to say that even though I don’t have a kid in the cycle (my personal Hell was last year, and I’ll be back again next year), I have been filled with such joy and relief for all of you who are finally getting answers. Know that there is a huge community (even off this board) of former and current A&M students and parents who are cheering for your kids and willing to do anything to help them succeed. The Aggie network is real, and it is incredible. Gig 'em, everyone!
I agree with the above. My second and final Aggie was accepted back in October but I continued to monitor to the site. So happy that you all received your answers. The memes over the past couple of weeks were both hilarious and heartbreaking. Good luck to your future Aggies and Gig ‘Em!!!
I agree with the above sentiment! The Aggie network is strong and amazing. I am so thankful for everyone getting answers! I am now already terrified to have to do this again in 2 years.
Thanks and Gig’Em!!
This forum is just about the only thing that has kept me sane over the last month. Even if we had not gotten the news that we wanted the encouragement to go the PSA/PTA route if necessary was so helpful, especially hearing the stories of people who helped their kids successfully navigate their way to A&M. Thank you all SO MUCH!
I agree! This thread reminded me how much I loved A&M when I was there and how much I think my son will love it. Operation sway him off Tech has begun in full effect!
For TAMU housing, what happens if you completed Phase 1 in late October and did Phase 2 only today. You keep the priority of October OR reset to the end of the queue ?
Priority is way back when you paid deposit.
For those of us that are still awaiting the Whoop!, what is the likelihood if we get on the waitlist for on campus housing that we’ll get it? I don’t want to gamble and lose out and be stuck scrambling for off campus housing, but we’d prefer to be on campus. Has that ship sailed??
Hmmm, got the 7 tabs early this morning, AIS changed major to Blinn Team, but have still not received the official Whoop - you’re accepted update yet…but I’ve seen others already have…
Waitlisting seems to have started much earlier this year than in the past. My feeling is that they might get off waitlist in June/July, but if they don’t, there won’t be nearly as many choices left for apartments.
Waitin’ on the WHOOP!
Now we wait for the WHOOP… lol… it’s been a true test of patience…
For waitlist or temp housing, contact their res life.

If there is any, won’t be too many choices. A lot of students (65%) move out of dorm for more privacy.
College Station has plenty of off campus housing five to ten minutes walk from shuttle route. Your student can look for off campus housing now if res life said chances of getting dorm is low.
If your student can drive (and have a car), rent can be much cheaper off shuttle route. Most freshmen can get WCG parking (cost about $600 a school year) and stay on campus most of the weekday, eat lunch at campus, and cook their own dinner at home/weekend.
Same, JC. Thank you:)
If getting 7 tabs in Howdy, those tabs are what your students will use in the next 4-5 years. So definitely only admitted students worth the effort of setting up.
AIS may show NSC later than the 7 tabs in Howdy. After registering for NSC, there is a list of tasks to finish. One of them is setting up tamu.edu email. Don’t be late in setting up email as the university will start communicating with students using tamu email. There will be loads of summer activities.
Parents will have their own Howdy access (your students can activate through their Howdy), parents will need to stop accessing (enough stress?) their students Howdy after admission. Parents Howdy will be able to see grades and financial aid, and of course, paying the bills.
With on campus housing on waitlist, does that include white creek? I thought that one was never full.
There are some FB pages just for folks trying to get a person to sublet because their plans changed and they can’t get out of their (off campus) lease. Go look through those and see what was available around July of last year. If you think subletting would work OK enough for you, it may be worth trying the on campus waitlist. There have to be a ton of kids who, come Ivy Day, release their housing contracts. Unless housing has already factored that in…something tells me there will be more than they anticipate, but I am just guessing. I don’t really think any of the housing options on campus are “bad.” Some of the older, double rooms would be a little small, but you could adjust by taking less stuff to dorm. (I actually think the older rooms have more charm than the Modulars.) If you really, really want on campus I think it is an OK gamble.
Im also wondering this
Anyone get the “Whoop” yet… still being patient over here staring at our 7 tabs
