My student will likely become a National Merit finalist with maximum PSAT score. As I understand, Texas A&M is offer scholarship for NM that would cover tuition.
She also has an outside scholarship that will cover her tuition for 4 years. They will only cover her tuition. Nothing else.
Can the NM scholarship at Texas A&M be used to pay for books, room&board books, fees, etc… in this case?

@thumper1 Complicated question that only the school probably can answer.
@quehuong how much is the outside scholarship? If it is only 10k per year, you could probably go to a school like Southern Cal which gives half tuition for national merit and stack it.
@texaspg - The scholarship is not a specific amount. It covers full tuition at their partner colleges.
I called Texas A&M and they said I will be able to use National Merit scholarship for room & board.
when you say “cover her tuition” do you mean completely? I will also likely become a finalist, but I’ve only heard that TAMU gives out 40k, not however much full tuition is.
I cant find current tuition except as a tidbit news which says it is $13,239. So there may be a gap of as much as 3k.
