If for some reason he doesn’t get into the academy, then he will try for an ROTC scholarship. We’ve already started that process. We’ll get that one going full force when school starts. That has to be done by January.

I’ve spoken to him about the other academies, but he wants to follow my footsteps. Air Force is all he’s really interested in. He also doesn’t want to go to our state university, so we’ll have to apply to different ROTC schools.

The thing is, we think that he’s done everything possible to qualify and be a good cadet and eventually an officer. But i’m sure that out of the 10,000 give or take that apply, probably half of them are very well qualified. That’s why we wanted to get the early application and consideration taken care of. This way if he doesn’t make it, for whatever reason, we can press on with ROTC and other options.

But even though we are trying to cover all our bases, my son, I and my wife just have to maintain a positive attitude that he will be accepted. He’s busted his but all the way through school and everything is completed on the application process. Guess we just have to sit and wait. That’s worse than the last 2 months of paperwork. Like I said, he really wants to be an officer and pilot. When he went to the summer seminar, it pumped him up that much more. I’m sure it’s more stressful on me than him. LOL!!!

Anyway, we’ll have to see what happens next. Later… Mike…
