If you’re driving make sure you have an ez pass. The key is early. Leaving on Thanksgiving morning is actually pretty light traffic. Just don’t leave Wednesday after 2 or 3 pm. Sunday you need to get up and be on the road by 8am. I live outside Annapolis - it’s a very charming and historic city. There is a Marriott right on ego alley that’s nice. You could probably have dinner at the rams head inn or one of the other historic restaurants, and of course you’d have to have breakfast at chick & ruths.
@VaBluebird, I believe iv been to the lodge you mentioned, when my son wanted to hike Old Rag. Could that be correct? I had difficulty because when we got there I didn’t know we were there, and my cell didn’t work. So it took some time to figure it out, but if it’s the place I’m thinking, people return again and again.
@1214mom, yep. Old Rag is right by there. I know a family who goes there every Thanksgiving rather than cooking at home.
Frankly I wish I could talk mine into that!! LOL.
