The Amazing Race - Season 21 ***SPOILER ALERT***

Another sweet gesture by the Beekman Bros and their Amazing Race opponents:

abasket: Thanks for sharing that! I have tears in my eyes. Very, very sweet.

Far, far behind, but have now completed watching the season. Not disappointed at all. While I was cheering for the Chippendale’s I knew that if there was an “intellectual” task at the end that the Goat Farmers would win, hands down. I loved James & Jaymes, and I truly am sad they didn’t win the money especially because the one’s dad is ill.

I thought the season was great, and I wold have personally been a goner if I’d had to do the Houdini challenge. I think they may have had a chance to see a video beforehand (maybe?) because they all seemed to get the concept of arms over head.

I look forward to next season, and again, I’ll voice it…I would love to see a season of “first team eliminated” racers.

I’ve always thought of college admissions as being a little like The Amazing Race. Some make it to the show simply because they’re gorgeous (those with great stats), some because they have great stories. Most have a combination of the two.

The easier an applicant makes it to shorthand their profile (Twins! Ex-rockers! Gay goat farmers!) (Inner-city squash champ! Buddhist photographer! Gay goat farmer!) the more memorable the story and the more likely the applicant will experience success.

If this sounds jaded it’s not meant to be. Just that when the committee is sitting around the table it must be harder to argue for the nice vanilla kid with the same EC’s as thousands of others than it is to push for the kid who truly stands out.
