I believe it’s the lateral hypothalmus? (not sure)

Describe the process by which humans encode sound waves into electrical signals to the brain.

I think it is transduction.
By the way there is the 1994, 1999, and 2004 released exams available at collegeboard.com
Trycyclics, MAO’s, and SSRI’s are what type of medications?

Sorry. Yeah, transduction was on the tip of my tongue, I meant describe the transduction of sound waves (the whole process from wave to signal in brain).

My class still has the sensory and perception unit to cover but I went read PR. Okay let me try:

1) Sound waves go through the outer ear
2) Strike the eardrum
3) Pass through the three bones (malleus incus and s something -.-)
4) Um goes into the inner ear, the cochlear I think, which has hair cells that bend in response to the sound waves
5) The hair cells are depolarized and send action potentials through the auditory nerve to the brain?

Haha I made the last one up but it seemed right.

What is the main difference between afferent and efferent neurons?

afferent neurons: take information from the senses to the brain
efferent neurons: take info from the brain to the rest of the body (think of the “e” in efferent as info “exiting” the brain)

I have the released AP exams for psychology, but I will give them to me only if you trade with me.

PM me with the AP Biology, AP english lang, AP Physics B, or the AP American History exam and I will PM to you the 2004 Collegeboard Psychology exam.

Thanks in advance.

It’s question time =)
Let’s all get a 5 for this year’s AP Psych test!!!

Since I randomly glanced through the questions + saw developmental psych (add to the fact I FINALLY LEARNED THESE STAGES!)…lets give out a development question~~

Q: What are the Eriksonian stages of psychosocial development? (x vs. y)
[clue: there are 8 stages]

OK totally gonna rock this

Trust v mistrust
autonomy v shame and
intiative v guilt
industry v inferiority
identity v role confusion
intimacy v isolation
generativity v stagnation
integrity(?) v despair

Always screw up on that last one

EDIT:
What conditions result from:
a surplus of dopamine, a lack of seratonin? and what is used to treat each condition?

Nah- you completely rocked it, as you said =) Go… Tiss229! Hehe

A:
Surplus of Dopamine- schizophrenia

Treatment: Clozapine (drugs), therapy.

Lack of Seratonin- depression

Treatement: Prozac (and other drugs) , ECT, deep brain stimulation, therapy or talk therapy (of pretty much any of the different perspectives: psychoanalytical, cognitive, humanist, behavorial… you get the jist)

Hm… I can’t think of anymore. Anyone want to add in some more details?

flips through Psych book + lands finger on … MOTIVATION chapt

Q: Explain Theory X + Y + Z. Exemplify for each.

anyone know if the PR book is any good?

baron’s is definetly the way to go

So far barrons is doing wonders for me.
