Aw shucksss I sometimes wish my D could have inherited my technical sensibilities (yes I’m a “techie” and proud of it!)…Girls have a much easier time getting into engineering programs than MT programs! Oh well, at least she inherited my talent…LOL!! You’re welcome Chris.

congrats to all! My S has been accepted to OCU and Missouri State, waiting to hear from Drake, he still has to audition. OCU and MoState, coming up quickly, so hopefully we’ll know soon.

Anyone lurking out there accepted to UM yet, post audition (not just academically)?

The word from UM, at least as far as the current students are aware (and they tend to be pretty reliable on this stuff) is that there was only one outright acceptance that resulted from the November auditions - a girl from the Pittsburgh area. Mary Anna has reported one of her students got a deferral, which is a good result from such an early UM audition. The majority of UM auditions got under way this past Friday Jan 13 (nice to see that many people are NOT superstitious…) and if the past is any indication, some students from that audition date may start to hear in as little as two weeks from now. For others, the wait will be longer.

If your son hasn’t auditioned yet, give him my break a leg! And if you want, check out my “UM audition pep talk” on the UM thread in the sub forums. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for all of you. We want more CC wolverines!!

I have discovered that relying on the word from students can sometimes be troublesome but I will stick my neck out here and say that’s also what I am being told. One girl from Pittsburg was accepted from the first round. She was in the summer program and has an excellent dance back ground. No boys were accepted.

Good luck. The wait is maddening, I know.

haha ok now i feel a little better, as while i was at the U of M audition, someone sang the same song as me, right after me in the same room, so i was worried about my chances after that, so as long as no guys were accepted, i feel a little bit better

yeah, i just had my audiiton at UM and I am anticipating my response!!! UM really met and past my expectations after my visit/audition and I think that UM is now if not #1 on my list, then definitely in the top 2 or 3. THe one useful advice that students there said is that even if u are deffered or waitlisted u have a chance of getting in, so just keep them updated with what is new with you and show them that you are still interested! I HOPE I GET IN!

Question to all, how long after an audition does it generally take to hear if your are accepted? Also, if there going to be any scholarship money, when do you find out about that?

I have 2 students who were accepted into the CCM Drama Dept from NET auditions in November. Both have declined the offers.

SRW - Which school / schools are you asking about concerning when you hear about acceptance and when you hear about scholarships? There is no general correct answer. I can assure you that they are all over the board. Some will tell you academic acceptance with scholarships separately and before the audition, some will accept you to MT within a week or so of the audition, some are a month, some don’t tell anyone until the end of March. Scholarships are sometimes communicated with the MT acceptance and sometimes communicated as late as April, even if the MT acceptance comes sooner.

He’s been accepted to OCU and MoState, we waiting to hear from Drake. He’s not auditioned yet anywhere, but will be soon. When he got his acceptance from MoState they also gave him an academic scholarship at that time. I guess I just wondered if there was a customary time frame, but I guess not. So we’ll just fasten our seatbelts, get through auditions and sit tight!

Of your schools listed, I am only familiar with OCU. OCU’s academic acceptance comes first, and the academic scholarships come at about the same time, either in the same letter or a separate letter, I can’t remember. This seems to arrive well before the audition. The results from the audition come about a month after the audition, and any talent scholarship offer comes in the same letter.

It seems like the list has gotten very cumbersome. I know at first no one had any acceptances except academic and it was fun to see those, just to see something there. But, now that everyone is getting their acceptances from the MT programs, I think it would be more productive to just post the program acceptance, like we did last year. The academic acceptances don’t really have any merit to these kids anyway. It just seems that the list is a bit hard to read as it grows.

I’ll start a new list. If you guys don’t like it this way, just go ahead as you’ve been. I also mixed in the non-audition programs. I think these deserve to be in the main list rather than set aside like they’re not as important. And thanks to those who started all this and have worked on it so hard.

Thanks for the condensed list. I agree…now that we are this far in the audition process, everyone is mostly interested in musical theatre and drama school accepts only. Much thanks to all of those folks who have taken the time to put together these lists!!!
