The Cafe Watering Hole

Snoop, you need to find good people. It’s so much better. I’ve always thought I’m above having friends, but now I have friends, and I’m so much happier. Go pick some random “those people” and talk to them. My friends aren’t even remotely similar to me; but they put up with me anyway. No one’s going to tell you to go away, and if they do, then that’s all the more reason to stay. Good luck!

That was a very unnecessary paragraph.

Ah, stubbornness. You’ll get over it.

You make many assumptions.

I look like an awesome doctor right now.

What distinguishes an awesome doctor from a not-so-awesome doctor?

Paper Planes is number 3 on itunes right now.

HAH.

Tell me that you’ve got everything you want, and your bird can sing.

I just found myself an amazing EC for next summer. Canada’s not so crappy after all, little Americans. Yeah.

I would consider going to college in Canada if my parents would let me. But they don’t even want me going to Chicago, and that’s a four hour drive. So Canada is most likely out of the question.

By the way, you can’t say you found an amazing EC and then not say what it is. Here on CC, we want details.

I refuse to share my discoveries. Once I have secured myself this wonderful EC, you will all know what it is.

The Canadian colleges I’m applying to are all safeties. Why? Because all Canadian colleges are safeties. For people with a 2.0 GPA.

Seriously. *No essays. No ECs. No teacher recs. No test scores. *

some people need to retire from cc

Yak has turned into me? Huh.

I am banking on governor’s school next summer, because without that, I have nothing.

I wish there were some more US schools like that. Not even our crappy state public schools have applications that are that easy. They still want to see at least test scores, ECs, and sometimes teacher recs. If you want a scholarship, you have to have all those things, plus several essays to go along with the scholarship application.

Snoop, try for an office internship instead. Check around at insurance agencies and banks, and see if you can get into one of them. But instead of calling it an internship, ask for a job. Just make sure you get on that by March/April, so no other enterprising young Tennesseean can take the job from you.

Why should I intern at a place that doesn’t interest me? I guess I could look around for something. I don’t know what, though.

I have a real job too. And I like to volunteer. And a smattering of Latin things. That’s it.

whats governor’s school? how come it seems like my state is the only one that doesn’t have one?

[Other TN Governor’s Schools](http://frank.mtsu.edu/~gschool/otherschools.html)

Pick one for me. I swear to God, do not say agriculture. Or Tennessee heritage.

do IT leadership

That’s a bs school. Humanities is the hardest one, they said. I think international studies or… idkidkidk.

International studies. That’s the one.

My state doesn’t have governor’s schools either, and it has no online classes offered through the state. I’m pretty sure Ohio has this agenda of being technologically backward to prevent jobs from leaving the state.

I would do International Studies. It would probably be a more unique and worthwhile experience than, say, the Sciences one. You can learn sciences anywhere, and teachers/professors don’t have all that much freedom when teaching them.

This is all assuming I get in.

I really should be working. I need to write about two more pages and make 50 index cards and study for a test and finish some graphs before Monday.
