The Cafe Watering Hole

Hello, monster. :O

You’re just jealous.

Of what?

Feist is Canadian.

So are you, in your wildest dreams.

I don’t see how such a paradox is possible.

Americans never do.

Well sure.

It’s snowing.

It’s raining. Which means that it’s colder in the south than it is in the arctic. Weird.

I might have a snow day tomorrow.

There was five inches of snow today, digging my car out sucked.

The prospect of college decisions in two weeks is messing with my head.

I don’t feel well. I shouldn’t have worked out for so long. God.

That’s really nerve-wracking, Mike.

I’m still not sure if it’s nice to live a block from my school. In a way it is, because I don’t have to drive. But in a way it isn’t, because that means I have to walk. Through the grass. Small towns in the USA don’t really believe in sidewalks, for some reason. I suppose I could drive (I’ve done it before, hehe). But take this morning for example. It was snowing and sleeting at the same time, but my window was so iced-over that I could have walked to school four times before I could even see out of my car. I suppose it’s better, then, to walk. Sigh…

I can’t wait for my UChicago acceptance, which I will get. Now I think I might apply to Princeton just to spite my parents, and to provide one more option. Ay! If it’s this hard to just pick a college, I can’t imagine how hard it will be to study at one.

How do you know you’ll get into Chicago?

I’m taking the opposite approach, I’ve convinced myself I’ll be rejected everywhere except UIUC.

I miss Entourage.

I find that people who just assume they’ll get into certain selective colleges often don’t. But that’s just my experience.

I never really watched Entourage. I watched all four seasons of weeds and I don’t think I like it anymore. What 30-minute show should I watch next?

Entourage, no question. I will be Ari Gold someday.

Actually, I don’t know I’ll get into Chicago. But I’m dealing with some self-esteem issues, so I try to be positive whenever possible. Anyway, that’s why I have safeties. I have a cousin that was rejected from there five years ago, and now she’s at MIT for grad school. Her solution to dealing with her rejection was to pick another university in Chicago and go make friends with the students and professors at UChicago. Interesting, I must say.

Actually, I’m a below average applicant at Chicago. Well, with my SAT score. I’m slightly above average with my ACT score. But I guess deep down, I don’t really consider Chicago a viable option.

I’m fairly confident that I’ll get into Case and OSU. Then after those three, I have to make some quick decisions.

Oh my noodly appendages!!! I just found out that Kardinal Offishall is from Toronto. Rocker, do you see him in the grocery store? If so, get your picture taken with him. Then you can sell it on eBay.

He’s from a suburb. If you count those, Toronto has a population of around 5 million people. I doubt I’ll ever just run into him.
