I don’t think I’m doing anything tomorrow. Christmas Eve isn’t a big deal. Christmas itself will be hectic. God.

I’m off to read more of The Trial and then I’m going to sleep.

Kafka is my favourite author.

Happy Christmas Eve, pretentious cohorts.

Kerplonk.

I am so buying a Macbook after I deem this computer worthless. But I’ve only had this one for a year, so I have to wait a while.

I’m also buying an SLR camera after a while too, but I’ve only had my current camera since last spring. So I have to wait on that.

I want to get a new phone.

I need to get off my addiction to electronics.

I’m waiting for a package.

…That’s what she said. I’m terrible.

This is my favorite day out of the whole year.

I bought an awesome new phone. The Motorola Hint. But the charger doesn’t work. So now I have to wait until Friday to use it again. I have to go phoneless all day on Christmas. I think I’m going to die, even though I never talk on the phone anyway…

I’m reading Metamorphosis right now. It’s incredibly bizarre.

omgzz don’t let the Canadian hear you.

He’s reading Metamorphosis in French though. The French version is different.

I read it in English and in French. I find that Kafka’s style is better translated to English than to French, because English isn’t as structured and doesn’t follow rules that are nearly as rigid as French ones. Stylistically, authors have a lot more freedom in English than in French, and Kafka’s characteristic long sentences and paragraphs are completely altered by French translators.

That’s something I care about.

I’m reading The Handmaid’s Tale. It is odd.

M

OMG my parents are wrapping my presents now!! im in my room, they sent me there. i can hear them now.

You mean Santa Claus doesn’t wrap them? He must be too busy for that.

Kris Kringle is a bangin’ name.

Huh.

Yeah, I hope I can one day become fluent enough to read One Hundred Years of Solitude in Spanish. I’ve read it in English and I liked it a lot, but it felt slightly sterile, which I find is true of a lot of translations. The chapter I’m reading right now in The Trial is 20 pages long and it only has three paragraphs, but the French version is written normally.

I hope one day I’ll be able to understand all of Love Actually.

That’s right. I said it.

I want to learn German now.

It’s probably easier for you to learn German than us. You have a background in Croatian. While it’s not really that close to German, it’s much more similar to German than French. If that makes sense. So go for it.

I want to learn approximately six languages. But I still only know English. I can get the gist of *Cien a

German isn’t that hard, seeing as how we speak English and all.
