The City You Will Live in for Four Years

This is one grad student"s opinion of life in Montr

Thought I’d give this thread a bump. Several posters’ views on life in Montr

thanks for the link to this thread @tomofboston there seems to be alot to do in montreal! but these actually seem more like things you would do when going on holiday to Montreal, i was wondering what do the students do when they simply venture into Montreal. (maybe it is those things). and also what do they do ON campus in free time when they are not studying? thanks!

^^^What students do in their free time cannot be answered in general terms. Some students party a lot although that is not as common as McGill’s reputation may lead you to believe. If you have musical interests, Montreal offers an incredible array of venues. The music scene is French, English, bilingual and multilingual. Most students will join campus clubs that do things like cross country skiing (my favorite), community work, political activism etc. Some get involved with the city after first year when they move off campus. I was active in Les amis de la montagne, a group concerned with preserving Mount Royal’s natural features. Montreal is a great city for biking, at least part of the year. It all depends on what interests you.

I think Deborah Chow feels as I do about Montr
