actually its lemonjello and I that heard from our gcs that decisions might be late. our gcs heard this from the yale rep. we both live in nyc.

I hope so!! =P

I think I am resolved to not check CC or the admit website until after school is out today. That’s my personal goal.

The Harvard deferrs and rejections are so so so confusing and discouraging

“one day more,
another day another destiny;
on this never ending road to Calvary…
these men who seem to know my crime will surely come a second time,
one day more…”

haha bard, how true, I’d like to second that with

“at the end of the day there’s another day dawning
and the sun in the morning is waiting to rise
as the waves crash on the sand
like a storm that’ll break any second
there’s a hunger in the land
there’s a reckoning still to be reckoned
and there’s going to be **** to pay
at the end of the day”

so i just talked to my gc and apparently our friends at Yale are “scrambling”. So decisions will definitely not be out today and at best tomorrow evening (ET). I was really hoping it would be released today…

I don’t know how I’m going to make it until tomorrow! This is killing me…and to top it off my school’s valedictorian(sp?) got defered from Harvard and I have to go to two parties tomorrow night after I get my decision…ick…maybe it’ll be a good thing if decisions come out saturday…

no…I definately HAVE to find out tomorrow!

well they were always going to be out tomorrow so i don;t know why that is such a big deal.

That’s true.

Good luck to all of you awaiting Yale decisions.

I have a daughter at Yale, and I know how much you all want this.
If you have read the Harvard EA decision board, you may be a bit discouraged. This is probably a good thing, as even more kids applied EA to Yale this year, so more will be disappointed.

It’s unlikely that Yale will accept a larger number than they did last year, as they can only house so many students. I don’t think Yale defers politely, so if you are deferred, you do have a slightly higher chance of admission than the RD group. Deferred students are not necessarily “less worthy” than accepted ones. Often it’s just a matter of space.

At my D’s Freshman Assembly, Dean Brodhead told the class that, although this was one of the most accomplished classes in Yale’s history, they could have taken an entire class of equally qualified students. Please remember this when wondering , “Why didn’t they take me?” Looking at the Harvard thrread should convince you that this is true.
These selective colleges have so many niches to fill - athletes, legacies, URMs, someone from every state and part of the world- that what may seem random really has more to do with filling a niche which we, the public, have no knowledge of. At this point, you are all pieces of paper about which admissions people try to make assumptions and projections. They don’t know the real you, no matter how great your essays and letters may have been. There is an element of LUCK at Yale and every selective college. Life’s kind of like that in general. While hard work and talent helps, luck factors in. The good news is, with the hard work and talent so evident in most you here, success will come, Yale or no Yale.

Thanks A.S.A.P. You’re right.

There have been so many good posts today. My day has been really tiring, but I appreciate your support…

I’m afraid I’m setting myself up to get crushed!

:(

I can’t help but hope!

me neither…

i’ve stopped hoping after all 3 of my friends who applied to harvard were deferred and they all had like 2350+s
