here’s the link for ucsc: https://my.ucsc.edu/psp/epprd/EMPLOYEE/EMPL/h/?tab=PAPP_GUEST

Rejected Riverside

All education done in Australia but green card holder (permanent resident), was told would be considered a domestic applicant… 1360 on SAT 1 (couldn’t study for them at all as I had 11th grade finals on at the time) , 800/650/640 SAT II (couldn’t study for them either, i had my 12th grade finals on) … on Australian standards i was in the top 1.3% of 66000 students statewide who sat the Final Year 12 exams … Did toughest courseload (maths ext. 2, maths ext. 1, physics, chemistry, economics and english) for final year (what matters in Australia) … good ecs … ranked 9/120 at the 7th best High School in the State - Selective School, 99% of graduating class going to college and 95% of class in the top 30% of state … 70% in top 10% of state…

Its funny. If Riverside rejected me, how can I have a chance at the other UCs.

You should call them. There is no way you would have been rejected if they considered you a CA resident. Now this one is worth an appeal!

That deserves an appeal. With stats like that, you should be paid to go to riverside.

Maybe it’s Tuft’s syndrome. They knew you’d never come.

i was hoping ucsd and ucla … and if all went wrong then i’d at least get into irvine … but … obviously not …

i kno someone last year who got rejected to riverside but got accpeted to SD… so who knows?

For UCSC, did they send a letter that included the user id/password or something?

i think it probablyis just that. they probably knew that you would never go with those stats so they would have a lower yield rate…thats why they probably reject some of their “creme of the crop” applicants

oh yea…does anybody know around what date David announces its decisions?

^
I don’t know, ask David :)

masterchiefll: i got a letter in the mail that gave me login info, but it didn’t work. so i e-mailed them, gave them my uc id number and my full name, and they sent me a new username and password

If someone does not receive early acceptance to UCLAs engineering program, does that mean they won’t get in to UCLA at all?

JCO, what’s your top choice?
Also, if you havent recieved acceptances yet, it could be because they are comprehensively reviewing your apps (bad news).

And 2+2, I’m sad to say that last year, EVERYONE who applied engineering and was accepted got the letter early. I’m not sure how it works at your school, but essentially, yes. You will probably not be accepted.

And yaya, Riverside has an extremely small number of international applicants. If I were you, I wouldnt even worry that much. CA residents find riverside to be the least selective, but out of country applicants might find UCD to be the least selective. I know lots of int’l applicants who got accepted UCSD, but not Riverside.

It does, however, mean that you wont be accepted UCLA and Berkeley.

I applied to Davis and was wondering when do they release their admissions decisions online. Please Specify month and day. Thanks.

Davis? Usually the 15th-20th.

2+2=5:

Of course you still have a chance of getting in… just don’t be surprised if you don’t…

bubbles for sale: i don’t if you read my thread properly but i am a permanent resident … i lived in california for about 4 months now and have had my permanent residency status since feb last year … when i spoke to the ucs (irvine, ucla, ucb, ucsd, davis and riverside) they told me cause my parents have lived here for 3 years i will be considered an in-state applicant with an international education … I AM NOT AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

yaya, then that is most unusual. Did you check to make sure that your apps was sent in right? UCR grants everyone eligible in CA acceptance.
If I’m right, you would be eligible by examination alone. my friend got a 2.8/1200 and got in.

None of the UCs are taking everyone eligible anymore. Some guarantee admission for ELC students which the op is not.

It seems clear that UCR did not treat you as a CA resident. There is no possible way you would not have gotten in if they had. It seems like a mistake, so call asap.
