@monkey13 I am a firm believer in deferring to those with boots on the ground who know their own program. It surprised me mainly because of my understanding of Ithaca’s program from back when my daughter applied in 2012. It certainly seemed like an acting focused program then anyway because otherwise it would not have made my daughter’s list. I also recall that dance classes were not leveled but that has probably changed too.
I think anyone trying to get a handle on Ithaca’s dance component in their MT program could still be confused about the amount of dance however even today so it’s good that you are mentioning it. The program’s website says “over 20 hours a week spent in training” this is across the board. And there are only 18 dance credits required for graduation in comparison to 33 - 34 for acting, voice, movement and another 33 for music classes. So I would never have concluded given the credit distribution that roughly 1/2 of the “over 20” training hours each week would be for dance. Hence, my surprise.
