The Golden Question - Will I Get In?

Hey guys, thank you for your support. I might add that i just took the SAT and feel fairly certain i did much better - though i will not say anything else to jinx the situation. Please keep up your advice and suggestions, it has truly been invaluable!

Iranian might be good if you are from an international country with an international address. Stanford definitely likes URM.

i was told by i dont know how many people not to read this because the reality is that having such stats means nothing if admissions officers cant see your passion and what you got out of such extracurrics

the only kids who were accepted to stanford from my school in 2008 are very normal, humble students who probably just wrote some killer essays because they have not done anything significant

Hey Guys,

I do have Iranian citizenship, and I am currently in the process of getting Mexican citizenship. Yet i am still an American resident and citizen, so I doubt I will gain international status. Please continue posting!

So you didn’t turn in an opera supplement and still applied SCEA? Hopefully you mentioned opera. That arts supplement would have helped you.

how are you indicating your iranian descent on the application? I thought Iranians are Aryans and therefore Caucasian.

Hey guys,
No I didn’t submit an opera supplement - though I did mention it on my application. I would have liked to submit a supplement, but I could not complete the application in time for the October 15th deadline, as i had to wait for my new SAT scores to arrive.
As for my descent, i have done the following two things. Firstly, as I am also part Mexican (my mother) i have checked off the “mexican american/latino” box. For my Iranian descent, I wrote that under the “other” section. I’m sure they will understand. But good question Navr - it was definitely a question that I had when i was first filling the common app out.
