Another vote for the 8" spread.
If you don’t have space for the 8 inch, go for a single lever faucet.
No contest… 8” faucets are much more appealing
We drove past this place on Saturday… (sorry CB and my other fellow SD CCers! Next time, I will plan better and have extra time for a meetup!) Lol:

Oh my. I like modern style, but that kitchen is waaay too modern for my tastes!!
Prime location but no ocean view. I think that was someone’s idea of ‘Modern about 15 to 20 yrs ago’. I don’t like the furniture either. Another case of ‘what were they thinking’?. But, of course they did what we are all preaching here… you cannot worry too much about resale way in the future. Do what makes You happy.
Just saw the vanities in guest baths. Oh my.
Definitely all of that was put in with personal enjoyment in mind!
They took those photos at night and it looks like a Stanley Kubrick set!
What a kitchen! Why bother with the red panels on the fridge and dishwasher when the trash compactor and double ovens are white? Staging stools at the island with no overhang - hmm.
I had to look up “Snaidero”, apparently it’s Italian. It does not look inexpensive.
Apparently those curved-front cabinets date from the '90’s. They show an (undated) model on their website:

The catalog claims that style won a design award in 1996, and still has that red color as an option, the curved fronts seem to have been relegated to the dustbin though.
“Why bother with the red panels on the fridge and dishwasher when the trash compactor and double ovens are white?” If they could have gotten them in red, I bet they would have.
That kitchen makes me tired just to look at it. And what’s with the curved door fronts? I thought the blue vanity sink was kind of fun. Actually what I really hated was all those shiny stone floors. They look like they would be lethal when wet. I don’t think there’s an issue with doing what you love, but I think some things are impractical. Stools with no overhang for example. There is an overhang over on the side, but who wants to stare at a dead wall? Just incompetent design. And there was this weird thing going on with the ultra sleek kitchen and the natural wood casings around all the windows and doors. (Which look undersized in the photos.)
My back aches just from looking at all that stone!
Gawd ,that red kitchen is just awful!
It screams “danger zone”!!
I get it that tastes differ… but who in their right mind would want to look at that sea of red day after day?!
Yuck
The red kitchen is a bit…intense…looks as if a Civil War battle occurred shortly ago.
In other renovation news, they painted my bath today and I’m actually super happy with a paint color I picked out. Picking paint is an extremely drawn out, time-sucking, over-analyzed affair for me. Have read every Pinterest post on the Perfect Gray…
I spent months coordinating colors with the “Cliffside” color I picked out for the shower accent wall. A lovely color that went with the floor and shower tile; matched the vanity and looked great on the white cardboard I painted and viewed at every hour of the day. Until I decided to paint it on the actual drywall…mud! Blech.
As none of my 37 samples of Sherwin Williams grays looked good, I threw up some dark gray from the Ace Hardware that I painted at a rental in 2013. It’s such a perfect match with the marble shower tile
Maybe gray ages like fine wine-ha!
I’m glad you made it through all the paint samples!
I am the proud owner of at least 100 small jars of paint samples. Luckily I only let myself put up 5 or 6 and I just bite the bullet and go for it. But sometimes I drive the painter crazy by insisting on a custom mix or lightening something up.
I mixed all of our blue samples and created a custom blend for painting the master bath.
Now we only need to peel off that giant wall of mirror so we could install the new mirrors. In House1, the mirror peeled itself off! I came home to a giant mess of broken glass on the floor! No such miracles are expected here, sadly.
Benjamin Moore used to have a yearly list of award winning colors. My g/f used 3 of those colors in her office and it looks great.
People do limit their home for resale when they use a look that many just cannot live with. When we were buying our first home in Houston, there was a home with green and white carpet throughout, and white furnishings - it sat on the market for the ‘right’ buyer.
A friend tastefully did their kitchen with red shiny cabinets (IKEA?) and their floor was black and white check. They loved it but when they do go to sell the house…
My S and DIL just bought a house precisely because it is completely neutral and they could move in without making drastic changes yet. Baby is due in a few weeks and they didn’t want a project right away.
