A local electrician-owned business that only does PV and electric stuff, so that will not helpful for anyone out of the greater Seattle area. The panels are Silfab, made in Bellingham WA. The inverters are Enphase.
I can send the co. name by PM because CC does not allow posting business names.
We are now officially a “Generating Facility.” Approaching a megawatt hr energy production, in 5 weeks of what is usually considered darkest times of the year! Time to shop for a minisplit contractor…
I had posted earlier about redoing a sunroom. The project is finally getting underway now. Trying to figure out what LVP to use for the floor. We went to a floor and decor store today and saw a NuCor brand floor we liked. But the reviews online are iffy. Anyone here have LVP? Can you share which brand? Does it hold up well -not easy to dent/scratch? What about fading in the sunlight?
We just installed LVP flooring in our basement. So far so good but there is little natural light down there and it’s new so juried out on wear and tear. That said, the painter got paint on it and I was able to get it right off and another section got something sticky in it, and again it came right out. It’s Duralux brand.
Last year, Home Depot installed Pergo waterproof LVP on the lower level walkout of our cabin. We think it looks great and feels so smooth underfoot. Now, I just need to find the right large, oval braided rug to put in that space in front of sofa near the doors.
We are in the process of installing LVP Provenza brand.
I say “process” b/c husband and I are doing it and he has not yet opened the boxes sitting in our living room (for several weeks!). Seeking patience on this front!
I will say he is in a field related to building and is super picky about quality, etc. All the stuff I don’t know much about (depth of the underlaiment?). He liked this brand a lot after looking around at many.
And to add: this brand was more expensive than the stuff we looked at Floor & Decor. I deferred to him on the quality-type decisions - I was more interested in the color…
We’re starting a fairly large outdoor kitchen project that includes some decking. We’ll be using Trex. We have a few friends that have switched to Trex- I’ve not noted any slippery conditions.
We had our deck redone in 2021 with TimberTech (Azek). We—especially the Demon Dog—use that deck multiple times per day to access the back yard. I don’t find it any more slippery than the stained wood that it replaced. And I love knowing that I don’t have to restain every few years.
Our basement reno project is finally complete. We used LVP flooring and are very happy with the look. Hopefully they’ll hold up well. This is the before:
Thank you all for your composite decking reviews. Trex sounds more and more appealing.
I also found another product called Deckorators that is similarly priced to Trex but is made from a mineral material/polymer composite. Will research that, too, and if anyone here has any opinions about that product, I’ll appreciate your honest reviews.
Keep in mind the color of the composite decking, and the orientation (even in the PNW). If in the sun, dark colors will absorb the heat, and can be very uncomfortable.
