Just had a look at the Kneupper site that I posted a while ago with the NASDAQ sell signal. It shows a nice downtrending channel. Friday’s low was at the bottom of the channel. Maybe a fib level was hit too.

I don’t remember the professor’s name but he was a former derivatives trader.

Ok…thanks.

Variant of “a man’s only as old as he feels” that Strom Thurmond and Tony Randall subscribed to. It’s in the brainy quote site you provided a link to.

Had a look at the index charts at Leavitt Brothers. The uptrend is intact in the S&P and $INDU. The uptrend in the $COMPQ has been broken.

Dad-of-3, love that quote.

I wonder what type of depression Greece would experience if it was allowed to default on its debt? No one would take its debt which means it could not borrow and an economy without financial instruments is not an economy. I think austerity is better than default.

I am not sure about that.

Greece has defaulted many times.

Since the debt to gpd ratio goes up under austerity, you might as well spend money.

I am not sure what Greece is doing. The German banks would be screwed in a default.

The US spent money to get out of its depression in the 30’s. 1937, the year the US tried austerity didn’t work too well.

Austerity is very bad when demand in an economy is weak. Makes demand weaker.

I think the US is slowly getting out of its mess. Real estate turned. If
lending standards were loosened a little bit, real estate would boom again. It’s been 5 years. Rates are very low. I was told there are many areas, including areas like Phoenix, where homes get snapped up very quickly.

A friend of mine just forwarded me an email from another friend. Looks like about 10 reqs, some for Java programming and some for C/C++ and some for testing. It’s been a while since I’ve seen emails from friends looking for people. I normally hear of openings via word-of mouth. Emails suggest wider disemmination.

My son would be perfect for a few of these but I think that he’s a lot better off where he is right now.

What caused the S&P to jump today?

It hit support on Friday.

Demark says the s&p could spike up over the next ten days and then go down - the top around 1478 - 1483. If it doesn’t, we have the highs for the year.

I thought the stock market hit support and was going to spike up?

Ipad mini way over prices compared to Nexus 7.

Apple fans will prove they don’t care if the product is overpriced by 30% or more, if it has an Apple logo on it people will buy millions of them.

If anything they under-priced it. I bet they could have easily gone to $349 or even $369 with no noticeable impact on sales.

I didn’t make that assumption. Earnings continue to stink and the Fed may crank up more QE tomorrow. Not a terribly good environment for trading. It’s a lot more relaxing being in cash.

Apple is selling the iOS Tablet library. They have well over 200,000 tablet apps while there are from 1,000 - 2,000 tablet apps on Android. I don’t know how many tablet apps there are for Windows but I had a look around on their mobile platform and a lot of apps that I take for granted on Android or iOS don’t exist on the Windows Phone platform. Simple stuff like my credit union or bank or credit cards.

BTW, it’s nice to be able to post again. I haven’t been able to post since yesterday. Clock problem.

Could be a good day tomorrow - rebound from today’s selloff and China’s pmi
