Uhhhhh…did those long calls expire in the money? Did you sell them out before the options expired? Or did they expire out of the money?

I almost always buy calls that are ditm since I want delta > .9. They expired with me making ~30% on all three of them. This time since I’m much less sure of the direction of the market - I may buy call spreads near the money with less upside but also less downside - I’ll probably look at this tomorrow.

I should correct what I just wrote - I sold them on Friday before they expired.

Uhhhhh…yeah…what you wrote was confusing. :)

I typically don’t want to own stock unless its a high yielder

I predict HLF will float around where it was Friday until earning come out Feb 19 and they are unexpectedly above estimates. The stock will jump and I will short it like crazy. Then the stock starts it descent again.

I can only sell calls if I own the stock. I can sell “cash secured puts” but I cannot sell naked calls. Most of my options trades are in my IRA. TRV was a long term holding that had a longterm target of 80, but I admit the uptrend has been gradual enough so that it looks like it could continue. Both T and BAC I bought some extra shares and then sold the calls. T I was also short 33 Puts, no immediate plans to buy back either. If I still own BAC I will sell some more 12 calls against the position. IBM I might sell puts (a put actually) under 200. I have owned IBM for a long time, selling calls against positions and selling puts. I don’t like owning it from 205 back down to 200, but not about to get out of the position. I prefer to keep selling options around it.

NJres, ok…

Razorsharp…you won’t have to wait long.

It is annoying. I don’t really have a plan today. Nothing stands out to me. I have a couple of 5 lot orders in ddd…one to cover some of the 50 puts and an order to sell more.

Those orders are entered so I think I am trying to do something. :)

I don’t know what I’m doing. Right now I don’t fully understand the whole sequestration thing and the market’s lack of reaction. It is clear that it will happen.

I’m very happy with my GOOG position lately. It’s nice having the twin towers of AAPL and GOOG to play around with. Both great companies and there’s always action on one when the other is resting.

^^yeah I’ve noticed that in the past when I owned both. A number of times one was going down and the other was going up.

I sometimes think that people do paired trades on AAPL and GOOG.

The President has requested a delay on sequestration - I guess the market likes that.

Einhorn is going to court today. My aapl position is smaller this week compared to the last several weeks. I don’t trust Einhorn or the courts.

BCEagle91, nice trade in goog.

I wonder if $800 is an intermediate top.

Marty Zweig died

Wow…I liked Marty Zweig. He wasn’t that old.

70 isn’t old today. No cause of death was given. They showed an old picture of him.

I just read a story on him. Big technical analysis guy. I didn’t know that he had a Phd. I do remember watching him on W$W.
