I thnk aapl is down enough…for now… and like I said see support in aapl at these levels and down to 350…

I think aapl will come out with something this year and there will be speculation beforehand. I think aapl will be trading higher than it is now with this speculation…

Aapl might trade 400… I don’t know…

I dont see appl closing much below 430 today…too many puts were bought…and are going to close out today…

The 430 calls is the question…and the 435 puts…

I am thinking the 430 calls are going to outweigh the 435 puts…

I dont have the clarity that I have had a couple of times in the last couple of months in aapl today…because the option trading is not as clear…

Yes - bac worked out well. I’m thinking of buying spy and iwm calls today but can’t pull the trigger. I’m not sure about s&p getting beyond the 1565 level. Then again - maybe I’ll sell 3/16 puts on spy.

So where can we go from here in the s&p - near term 1600 which is only 3.6% above its current level, 1700 by the end of the year which is 10% from here. I can do 5 - 10%(year return) selling puts with much less risk and wait for the market to correct which it always does and then go long.

I like selling puts because it is pretty liquid…I am not locked in long term …

I sold 1 aapl put on that drop…I wanted to sell more…iI don’t know how I didn’t sell more. My timing was terrible… I tried to sell lower than the bid…and I missed…

I had sold 3/8 goog 790 puts for 1.5 and 3/16 goog puts for 1.45, aapl 3/8 405 puts for 1.43. Today I sold spy 3/16 152.5 puts for .30 and 3/16 vlo 43 puts for .24.

I know that I’ve been fairly positive on the economy but that’s not to say that I don’t know that there are a lot of problems out there and that there are a lot of people that are struggling or adapting to harsher conditions:

A guy at work got out of his SPYs near the top (1,400 I think) and then watched it go down. And kept watching. He’s been in cash since then. Missed out on a double.

This guy is super, super smart (math and engineering wise) and single and doesn’t have a lot of expenses. I’m pretty sure that he isn’t hurting for spending money. He loves to chat with me on economics and the stock market (he’s european) - especially late at night after work. We used to do that more often over pizza but my Friday nights are tied up now.

BTW, I’m really enjoying Chris Pupluva’s weekend wrap-up pieces. Basically a nice recap of the week in a no-nonsense way. His father has a more ideological bent when he did the weekly recaps but sometimes the bias while it might make you feel better, doesn’t really help in trading.
