^Knowing that Samsung is no threat to apple?

http://www.valuewalk.com/2013/03/apple-inc-aapl-to-gain-ownership-share-over-samsung-in-2013-report/</a></p>

Love the chart. Thanks BCEagle91.

One thing that I’ve noticed is that Apple does a better job at getting content companies to provide Apps for Apple’s platform compared to Google. On the three major networks, NBC has TV apps for both iOS and Android. CBS and ABC only have apps on iOS. I know that you can watch CBS shows on the tv.com app on Android but the experience is truly awful.

In general, the tablet apps are much better on iOS than Android too. Android does have the benefit of running on cheaper hardware.

The chart shows a bullish flag just below trend resistance and the 50 DMA. Either we break through resistance or we go back down to test the lower support line. The target of the flag is about $478 depending on where you measure the base of the flagpole. I’m measuring it from March 15.

Is this true? If true, how widespread do you think?

[Unemployment Aid Hurts Main St. Hiring: Landry’s CEO - Yahoo! Finance](http://finance.yahoo.com/news/unemployment-aid-hurts-main-st-165159942.html)

I know people who have done this. If you had a decent job, got laid off and can only find a job flipping burgers for Cr** money, why would you take it?

To support yourself without the handout? Are you saying we should support an exbanker because s/he is too good to get a menial job? It’s not my job to support them.

From a practical standpoint, why bother? And we’re not just talking rich people, there ae a lot of middle income people who can’t afford to flip burgers. Also I knew an individual who used his extra time and his unemployment compensation to start a business.

^That is great, good use of unemployment benefits. Did they need extended unemploment benefits?

Yes they used extended unemployment benefits.

A friend of mine has been receiving unemployment benefits for a long time. He was an asst manager of a retail store and he wants that kind of job. He is in his late 50’s. Housing prices have increased so he probably has a positive net worth.

My friend has applied to many, many job openings and has talked to companies that don’t have official job openings.

He doesn’t want to just take a retail job. He would make 15,000 a year less. He is worried that it might hurt his resume.

He is not a brilliant guy, but most people aren’t.

His choices in life are… Is he going to struggle or is he going to struggle?

I guess there is talk that aapl is going to start production on a cheaper iPhone in June.

It’s time to stop extended unemployment benefits imo. It’s gone too far.

Aapl’s volume was below average today even with spike. I sold a few more puts. I didn’t want to buy calls in case the move just was a spike that did not last. Maybe tomorrow the stock just rockets up. Quite a few 450 puts and 445 puts traded. Maybe that will put a floor in the stock tomorrow. Want to see a nice big open interest there.

I think extended unemployment benefits have been cut a little.

You know what else has happened? There has already been 2.5 trillion in spending cuts and tax increases. If this doesn’t slow down the economy too much, the deficit is going to collapse for a few years.

Funny thing, FED is still forcasting 2-3% growth after the spending cuts. I think both parties are bluffing. Scaremongering.

<a href=“The Fed's Math Just Doesn't Add Up | Seeking Alpha”>The Fed's Math Just Doesn't Add Up | Seeking Alpha;

My recent bout of unemployment paid me the state maximum of $653/week + an extra $25 per kid for a total of $703/week. It takes about a $68K salary to qualify for the maximum.

$703/week works out to about $17.50/hour.

You think I should take a minimum wage job while this was available? No way. Who would?

Federal extended benefits aren’t available in my state because the unemployment rate is too low. State benefits last 26 weeks. Fortunately, I found another job before my benefits ran out.

That’s reasonable. I think that’s what the benefits were supposed to do to bridge it over. 26 weeks is not long at all. Isn’t that within the unemployment insurance payment? I am talking about extended benefits. If one can’t find a job withing a reasonable time frame, they should adjust expectations.

Most unemployment benefits are spent so the money ends up in your pocket, or your neighbors pocket or your neighbors neighbors pocket.

dstark, you could give up your assets to me. I promise I’ll spend it all. :)
