The investment..speculation, out right gambling thread

Lol…

Might be time to start looking at buying spy puts instead of selling them - maybe the q’s.

Now…you tell me…after
I sold puts last week. :)

Maybe its time to buy calls - then again I’m just like everybody else and don’t know what I’m talking about. One thing I do believe - I wouldn’t go too far in any direction right now.

:)…

You have to trust your inner voice…I am not kidding.

If your inner voice sucks…you are going to have problems. I am not kidding.

There was a money manager on CNBC…on Fast Money…and he asked the regulars…how can you guys have opinions on everything?

I just :).

I have no idea what is going to happen tomorrow.

12,000 before 13,500

See… Qdogpa trusts his inner voice.:)

Went long QID and added to my TZA on fridays open

:)…

Going all in at 12,000

Then…tna time?

My inner voice is telling me to just focus on selling otm puts in spy, aapl, utx, and my company. I don’t have any large positions in anything. I reduced my 401k exposure to europe and emerging markets last week. But - what my inner voice is telling me is meaningless. In the words of that sage on CNBC Fast Money, Guy Adami : “price is truth”. The market doesn’t care what my inner voice is saying or what I think.

No…the market doesn’t care what your inner voice is saying…but the pocketbook does.

I have found that when my inner voice and the market are attuned… I do better…
And when they aren’t …I don’t play that much…

I trade a lot…a lot…but not for myself much these days…Don’t have the time to trade for myself.

I might see soon …how much my inner mind is attuned with the market. But not right now.

Now…I am just playing…

Razorsharp, we mentioned Whitney Tilson in this thread…

Let’s say A viewer watches CNBC…

And the viewer likes Whitney.

Let’s say the viewer watched Whitney on CNBC…

And whitney said he is short BKS and it is going to zero.

So the viewer…respecting Whitney shorted BKS.

When did Whitney Tilson go public and say he changed his mind? When did he say he took a 2 percent long position in stock… And a 2 percent long position in options?

<a href=“Tilson Wins Some (Barnes & Noble) and Loses Some (Netflix) - WSJ”>Tilson Wins Some (Barnes & Noble) and Loses Some (Netflix) - WSJ;

In time for viewers to flip their positions?

This is one of the best videos about trading I have ever seen…

A great video about life…listening (watching, experiencing)…letting it flow…it is in your mind. You have a whole collection of ideas and thoughts…in your subconscious and you draw upon it.

The video happens to be about a musician…a genius…but it is relevant…

[Joe Pass interview - YouTube](<a href=“Joe Pass interview - YouTube”>Joe Pass interview - YouTube)

“When did Whitney Tilson go public and say he changed his mind? When did he say he took a 2 percent long position in stock… And a 2 percent long position in options?”

It has been shown that following successful managers into their stock picks has not been advantageous for investors because of the above. When you find out what they did, its too late.

On the issue of intuition, if you were put into a room with no knowledge of the outside world or information flow, I doubt you would be a successful investor or trader. Our intuition works because our subconscious processes all the information that we obtain and can frequently put it together or filter out the irrelevant more effectively than our conscious brain. This is why I still listen to everybody - even people here. It sometimes gives me a new perspective on things.

Ok…

Buffett is buying stocks (story this morning) after a very good earnings report over the weekend though I think that earnings were goosed by stock market positions - I didn’t check how operating earnings are going.

The news from France is interesting. The US dollar has been rallying for a few days, presumably on the French elections and the US dollar is back above 80 right now. There’s a lot of talk about wealth french citizens and residents moving to London, New York and Singapore to avoid the 75% tax that may be coming their way. It’s resulted in Euro weakness (as if we really need more of it) and dollar strength which isn’t good for our markets.

Technical situation isn’t good. There’s a pattern known as three red soldiers which is three long red candles. We don’t have that right now - we just have two of them. Three of them is pretty bearish. The impetus might be long-side margin calls.

Nighttime session…a little different than what is happening in the daytime session.

I thought there would be more of a sell off today but I guess the French elections have already been factored in.
