I trade futures and used to trade triple ETFs. Futures are better because they don’t decay so quickly.

I tried shorting SCTY but no shares were available to short. I went head and sold naked calls. Very risky, but what the heck.

You sold otm calls?

In the money calls with no premium can be exercised becoming short stock.

Then you can be bought in…

Another Musk deal.

At the money.

I’m hoping the majority of short sellers have taken their losses and are out. If so, buyers will dry up and the stock will tank.

Ok…

I don’t like companies that issue K-1s except for EPD. :)

Krillies, thanks. I hate k-1s too.

I read the transcripts of the conference call and I didn’t understand them. Earnings are projected to decrease next year.

On the plus side, Icahn is involved. The dividend yield is high. I think the dividend will decrease, but remain elevated.

guess we know why the inside traders were selling last week. ;)

Lol…

WFR up another 4% yesterday. It’s up another 4% premarket.

Looks like TJX reported very nice earnings this morning. I’m not in it. TIF and NKE doing great (stock price). EQR broke out too. It might be an interesting tachnical play. The 50 just crossed over the 200 besides the breakout through resistance. I should have been paying more attention.

Apartments like the one that my son rents were going in the $1,850 area last December. At the moment, they are renting from $2,275 to $2,415. This is for a 600 sq ft studio. One-bedrooms run $2,720 - $3,000 and there are only 3 available this month and four available in June. It appears that rental prices are lowest in December and highest in May because of when medical students move in to start their either internships or residencies. My son is fortunately off their cycle so he got favorable rental terms compared to the current pricing but he’s going to get a big rent increase next year if this keeps going.

Yeah, I should own Intel.

Edit: Just put in an order. We’ll see if it gets filled.

Those rents are crazy.

Doct, thanks for the link.

Do people in the tech industry care about Computex?

Why are you asking? Yes, I see reports out of the show but is there something investor-related that you’re thinking about?

Maybe not if you don’t have a car. Those apartments (and EQR’s other apartments in the Boston area) are about convenience to work or to transit stops and shopping (they have a complex next to the Alewife T station in Cambridge which is walking distance to Whole Foods, Trader Joes and it’s an easy T ride to many stops in Cambridge and Somerville for tech and bio workers. It’s also right on Route 2 which provides easy access to Route 95 and the Mass Turnpike. They do a nice job picking their properties, at least in the Boston area.

I picked up a few shares this morning and it looks to be in breakout mode.

Of course, just about everything is in breakout mode these days.

Here’s a design win for Intel:

Yup, I saw that. Samsung will go with any vendor to make a profit. Samsung has their own foundry (Austin TX) but it’s interesting that they’re going with Intel. I think that you’re going to see Intel in mostly tablets this year and phones either late this year or early 2014 as that’s the way their schedule is looking. I expect really good things when they hit 14 NM next year.

Took 1% loss in GOOG and 8% gain in WFR this morning. Bought EQR and INTC. Both are doing nicely so far today.

Of course investor related…
