The investment..speculation, out right gambling thread

I think there cam be a rule that in order to trade, your brokerage firm has to know who you are. Goldman did not know who owned the account? That is ridiculous.

A lot of ■■■■■ footing around Corzine. They need to be locked up. They won’t learn the lesson otherwise. Huge amount of easy money to be made is almost impossible to pass up without the threat.

Traders look for this kind of activity. I did. Better than charts. The Najarian boys are going to be on tv Monday talking about those Leap options. There system looks for irregular activity like this so they can go long too. I am curious to see if the Najarian brothers got long. If they didnt…

Copying the crooks can be very lucrative. It is harder to do now.

Used to be one of my rules… Option premium is low… You buy it. If the premium is high, you sell the premium. If the premium becomes extremely high…you reverse and buy premium. If all the paper is one way, for example if almost all the paper is bullish like the leap options, get long.

dstark, how do you tell which way the paper is going?

Re post #8681: According to van Praag, former GS PR Chief, “Vampire squid are very small and harmless to humans.” :)

dstark, how do I look for this unusual spikes in call options?

The problem with the charges in dstark’s link is that they are civil only. I agree with Igloo–he should be locked up, not in Allenwood, but in the general population of a maximum security prison, as Napoleon said, to encourage the others.

I agree. Let profits be forfeited and the bank pay a fine.

If you do a cash transaction over $10K, you have to provide ID. I don’t see why this doesn’t apply to securities where $10K is a fairly small transaction.

The illegal activity shows up in the charts though. So you can get to trade like the crooks do - only you don’t know the why - nor do you necessarily care.

Leap Wireless - they are a prepaid service provider. They have store, customers, licenses and network gear. Prepaid is a growing business - it serves customers that don’t have as much money and maybe those that can get free Federal phone services. They are also offering AT&T’s 4G LTE network to existing Leap Wireless customers. Leap Wireless has 4.63 million customers - what’s not to like?

Yesterday I felt like: stop the world, I want to get off. But I stayed on. We’ll see how tech earnings go next week. I’m a bit worried.

I used to see the paper.

So did the Najarian boys if they were on the floor. ;)

Krillies, what do you do? Do you write code? Which languages?

Charts dont work as well…

I am not going to argue…

Charts aren’t as good as inside information but my supply of inside information is severely limited. Charts probably do a better job at keeping you of jail too.

Paper?..Little spike in charts? If I happen to be staring at a LEAP chart…So, I guess, no first dibs for the little guys. Of course.

I don’t code anymore. If I tell you what I do then you will know where I work. I never mentioned the company in this forum nor say anything about our “competitors”. In fact, I try to say very little about tech except the hiring of alleged “highly skilled” foreign workers vs. training fresh grads. It really bothers me.

Regarding our competition, I take it back, I did say something but nothing to affect the stock price.

Ok…I have no problems with that. That’s cool.

Talked to my ex partner and he said maybe that Goldman acct was a “Goldman” acct.

Somebody had to talk to somebody at Goldman to get that account open.

Looking for unusual spikes… I guess I can answer this…
You have to know the normal volumes and volatilities in the options. Then you look for big changes.

We need to get Eliot Spitzer on this case.

[Leap Wireless calls spike before deal](Leap Wireless calls spike before deal)

As per the other thread on the ACA, I’m going to stalk UNH. It’s currently trading in the middle of a very nice channel. I will look for a move to the bottom of the channel - might not get it though.

:)…

I looked at the market today for one minute. I have no idea what happened today. :)

I guess we didnt crash. :)

We went up, then down, then up, then down, then up. I think that the overall range was small. Market finished a bit up. Seems like normal summer doldrums after a big run.

Ok. Thanks. I may look later. I feel like not looking for awhile… But it is earning season so I should. I dont know…

Did you trade today?

No. I took my daughter to her old school and the school that she’s going to attend this fall. Took up the whole morning and a bit of the afternoon. Had a meeting in the afternoon. I couldn’t really trade. Some friends told me about SUNE which I have been stalking. They told me when it was in the low-9s. May have been premarket. A few of them got it around there this morning. It close up 11%. Very, very nice. I had a chance to buy it under $9 on Friday but didn’t. It’s a beautiful rectangle breakout and had been in our Adviser’s long recommendation for about three or four trading days. Technical target is $12.

11 percent. That is a great day.
