I think Apple looks like it’s going good going forward. Xmas will be good too for Apple.

Market is supposedly down because of the fed. Next week could be a good buying opportunity because the fed stuff is total b.s.

Does that mean it will go down more early next week?

I hope so

Rates are creeping up over the past month or two. The ten year treasure is yielding above 2.60, and one guy said he thought it might hit 3% by year end. I do think that if long rates were to rise much, it would have to have an impact on housing, which is, IMO, generally sluggish at best.

Well… I bought in the short at&t 34.5 puts for. .05. Did not feel like waiting until the close.

Short tlt calls that are expiring worthless.

My portfolio had a pretty crummy week.

I’d like to see rates normalize sooner than later.

Mad money guy said SELL, SELL, SELL, mostly to raise money to buy Alibaba next week.

“My portfolio had a pretty crummy week.”

I think I’m a bit down for the week also but it’s hard to tell as the longer dated options don’t always track the stock price.

@ DrGoogle #9647 — So we retail customers can buy Alibaba at whatever inflated price it will have hit when it finally comes available on the secondary market?

What do your contrarian instincts tell you about that strategy?

Calmom, I’m just reporting what he said in his show. He is a pretty funny guy. I’m still hold on to my AAPL. No plan to buy Alibaba.

I’m sure everybody has read this but just in case you haven’t: <a href=“Alibaba IPO: Assessment Of Risks, Rewards (NYSE:BABA) | Seeking Alpha”>Alibaba IPO: Assessment Of Risks, Rewards (NYSE:BABA) | Seeking Alpha;

I’ve heard some hedge fund guys were getting millions, not sure what I’ve heard are shares or not?
But I’m sure some of my mutual funds I own probably will able to get some. So that’s my indirect investing to BABA.

I don’t watch much t.v. I do read online sources of info, generally a sample of a lot of stuff. DocT’s sekingapha.com is one that I check regularly. I actually was up this a.m. at market open . Bought some stuff. Still hanging onto my AAPL as well.

I did not think my stock portfolio had such a high beta . :)

Doct, do you own some deep calls in spy that expire this week? Qqqs?

Dividend time.

I think I posted before, you can ride the BABA coattails with YHOO stocks or options. Here’s another SeekingAlpha article: <a href=“Alibaba: Risk, Reward And The Best ETF | Seeking Alpha”>Alibaba: Risk, Reward And The Best ETF | Seeking Alpha; – other than YHOO, the article say you can get exposure via the KWEB ETF – that ETF is actually trading down this week, so could be a good time to buy if you think that it’s a good bet – it closed today at 37.73, down from a high of 40.40 a month ago. I wouldn’t trust that for a long-term investment, but it might be something to look into for a swing trade.

“Doct, do you own some deep calls in spy that expire this week? Qqqs?”

Sh**. Thanks dstark for always reminding me. Even though I write it down in my trading notebook, I always forget. I only have court Tues - Fri so I may have to take care of it on Monday. I’m already getting tired of the court case and it’s only the first week. I have at least 2 more weeks of this which alternates between boredom and excitement. It’s interesting to see how the extremely wealthy live and their issues.

I want to sell some calls next week in spy.

I was going to do a buy/write today in spy, but when I saw profit potential $200… Max loss $194,000, it was kind of a turn off. :)

I’m a bit concerned that Cramer may be right that stocks such as aapl, googl, fb etc will be sold to buy alibaba. I own all of them but at a much lower price than they are currently except for those aapl puts. I’m most concerned about these puts but I also have been waiting for a sell off in those others so I can add to my positions.

I don’t know…I would think amazon and ebay would be sold before aapl.
