The Last Painting of Sara de Vos - October CC Book Club Selection

^ thanks @ignatius and what a wonderful concept for busy career women, some mothers who would be unable to probably make it to a night time book club. lunch works!!!
Love their list, thanks for sharing.

Also,@mary13 might have to check the bylaws, but I think **section 125-2A of the bylaws **allows and welcomes relatives of all CC book club participants, assuming the said CC member wouldn’t mind her daughter reading our graphic language and occasional r rated topics.

Your daughter would be welcome here, if lunch doesn’t work out.

^ Absolutely! And the annual dues are waived for family members. It’s a special perk.

I just finished the book…late to the party…The Last Painting of Sara de Vos.
Interesting discussion! Thanks. We read it for my local book club and we are meeting tonight.

If your local book club has any insights you think we’d be interested in, please share them, VaBluebird.

@NJTheatreMOM , okay, will do. (though I highly doubt it)

I’m in the Louvre looking at the Judith Leyster painting; thinking of all of you!

Wow … jealous!

@nottelling, that’s amazing!

When we were discussing this book, there was a difference of opinion about whether the author was correct in having a woman character wear slacks in an office in the 1950s.

I still say “no,” :slight_smile:

However, here is a wonderful photo of the artist Georgia O’Keeffe, in 1944, in dungarees, perched smilingly on the back of a motorcycle.
