<p>Ours was about $12K, but since we only paid about 1/3, it was only about $4K net. We have a smaller system than nearly anyone else we know because we used so little electricity to start with, especially since we already had solar water heater. We had 9 panels installed. Some of our friends have had a system that is 48 panels and everything in between. </p>
<p>We got quotes from several companies, based on our past (and estimated future) electrical use. No point in getting too much more than we use because our electric company won’t give us credit for making more than we use (some electric companies will). We stay on the electric power grid but some folks prefer to have batteries and get off the grid entirely. That seemed too radical to us and we’re fine with paying the $17 per month.</p>
