Got mine too lol.

6:34 PM, East Coast (NY), Last name- “S”

Either they take pride in being random, or this is by submission time of our applications.

I submitted mine on after Christmas, so who knows? Now we just wait 'til April…

(I’m from Bay Area. I’ve never EVER heard anyone from the area say “Cali,” so I find it annoying.)

^yeah i’ve never heard ‘cali’ here in the area either haha.

SIGH, THIS IS THE ONLY EMAIL I WILL PROBABLY EVER RECEIVE FROM STANFORD WHICH I FEEL HAPPY AFTER READING. :(

how about when you track your application and the credential emails you receive?

I stayed at Stanford for a month over the summer and all the Bay Area people said Cali.
it grew on me.

^ Huh? That’s really weird. (About the “Cali” thing, not staying at Stanford, though that is kinda unusual.)

Ok, has anyone NOT gotten the e-mail?

I’ve lived in the Bay Area all my life. I’ve never said “cali” but I always use it while typing on forums, e-mails, etc.

5:31 PM (on Tuesday)…ah, I am freaking out, I do not want to wait until April 1st!

I’m assuming the e-mail will be sent on the 1st, right?

dpattz: The e-mail just said first week of April.

I think the Stanford Slaughter started out of the blue though; I don’t think they formally announced a date or time for decisions.

Maybe, “Cali” is slang in another part of California. For instance, the part of California I live in is SoCal.

Normally they release it March 28-31st ish. I’ve never really seen an Ivy send it out anywhere in April…

It felt so good to get my application acknowledgment.

Pity I was rejected :(

^ Part of the Stanford Slaughter?

lolcats4 what do you mean you got rejected? are they alredy sending decisions? and whats this “stanford slaughter” your talking about? I am guessing it refers to rejecting people, but are they sending decisions so early?
I am from Venezuela and I got my acknowledgment email

“Stanford Slaughter” is a colloquial term for the Early Admissions process at Stanford. Many, many people are rejected or, worse, deferred until Regular Admissions are processed.

Yeah I was part of the slaughter.

And remember, you can’t spell slaughter without laughter! :P

i dont understand: i got the confirmation email but there’s no way to check the status (what’s there and what’s missing)…

Hahaha ^ people who weren’t here during the Stanford Slaughter.

Very sad and shocking day for a lot of us on CC.

Did anyone else get like 3 emails all about the confirmation?
Stanford keeps sending it to me every couple days.
It is all the same email.
They received my application, please check to make sure your name and address is correct, blahblahblah.

Today, I got a LETTER.
It said

Dear asdfkjasfasfklasdf
We recently sent you an email regarding the status of your application. Our records indicate that the email was either not delivered or was not opened properly. The contents of the email are below but because you didn’t receive it we ask that you pay particular attention to items 1, 2, and 5 listed below.

And then it just repeats exactly what was in the email.
Except I opened my emails and read them thoroughly. All 3 of them -_____-
Is Stanford’s database just panicking and messing up?
Did this happen to anyone else?
